Another week passes, another zero-day exploit and another Adobe rushed out emergency patch to plug the hole. This behavior is becoming the norm for Adobe products, especially in 2013. Adobe will be releasing patches for two vulnerabilities sometime this upcoming week.

In lieu of a patch, Adobe urged users to upgrade to Reader 11, then turn on "Protected View," an enhancement to the sandbox that adds additional defensive features.

At least nowadays they are actually patching the shit instead of waiting years to do it.

Hopefully the patch just uninstalls Adobe Reader. The fact that security settings that should be standard are off by default is just ridiculous. It just goes to show they don't take security seriously.

turn on protected view... Fantastic, the feature that causes crashes for countless pcs i service at work.

Adobe should consider starting a screen door business.

I think they would build a better bridge into your computer but they already have Adobe Bridge.

Maybe Adobe Bridge would be a better as an umbrella name for their software products. :D

and of course every fix they get you to download they ask if you want to install Mcafee and it's auto checked requiring you to unclick it.

I heard that McAfee employees purposely expose Adobe exploits so that they can get automatically installed during updates.

I switched to an open source PDF reader because I got tired of Adobe's contrived unwanted software crap foisted as updates.
