I think today I am going to give up my Note 2 and get an iPhone 5. I love my Note 2 but I have come to realize that S Voice just doesn't work as well as Siri. Also, getting S Voice to activate from the button on a pair of headphones never works for me even with the apps that are supposed to provide the functionality.

What are your thoughts on S Voice to Siri? I will miss the battery life but I can charge whenever I need to where I work.

I could give up S voice but there is No Way I could give up the screen size & S-Pen now. When I use my wife's S3 it seems like an ipod nano lol.

I do love that S Pen, I take tons of notes when I am at a users computer. I also switched to my main machine at home to a Mac Mini so that helps out.

First time I've heard of someone switching over because of S-Voice/Siri lol.

I hardly use S-Voice, I always just use the google voice search and it seems to do what I want.

What kind of commands are you feeding it that cause issues?

I can get S Voice to work fine when the damn thing will start. Almost all the time it won't start with the button push on the headphones. I even used two different apps to configure it for me. They both failed.

Yeah I couldn't care less about S voice or whatever. I just type in whatever I need to search. No way I'd consider giving up this masterpiece of a phone for a iPhone just for that. We got a dude at work that talks to his all the time. Half the time it doesn't get it right and I get the results faster by just typing since he has to try it 2 and 3 tines.

But yeah, quad cpu, 32GB SD card, 5.5" screen, gianormous battery and S-pen FTW.

I never had a problem with Siri when I had my 4S. I got rid of cause I wanted 4G. Now I can have Siri and LTE.

I know at some point I will regret getting rid of the big ass screen and the pen, but I think having a way to deal with texts and phone calls in a way that I need I think it will work out. I loved my iPhone4S when I had it, I just couldn't stand the shitty 3G that Sprint had. I've since ran away to Verizon and their 3G equals the 4G speeds I was getting on Sprint.

I disabled S-Voice on my Note 2 as soon as I got it and use Google Now for everything. But I never try to send messages or make phone calls with voice. I always thought it was much faster and more accurate to just do it yourself (esp if you like to use punctuation). The only instances where I use voice commands are in the car when I tell it to navigate to somewhere and Google Now works great for that.

Why would you use S-Voice in the first place when your phone has Google Now, which is superior to Siri in most every way?

I actually just realized that you could send text messages on Google Now with voice commands. Also, I'm not sure what headphones you're using, but both my Bluetooth headphones and wired headphones with in-line controls activate Google Now on my Note 2.

Google Now > Siri > S-Voice

If you don't believe me, ask Steve Wozniak.

I'm using apples earpods (they are one of the few pair of earbuds that are comfortable, I don't like silicon style earplugs that go in your ear, they make my ears itch) and the inline button brings up google voice search just fine on the galaxy note 2. Though the volume up and volume down buttons of the ear pods dont work on the galaxy note 2.

This. I love Google Now. I disabled S Voice and never looked back. Most unbiased comparison videos show GN at least as good if not better than Siri.

I use Google voice/Google Now for all my voice related tasks on my Note 2. I only use s-voice to take pictures.
I honestly cannot fathom switching from a Note 2 to an iPhone 5 . Seems like going backwards in every possible way.

Google voice/now > Siri. Fact. See reviews on the net. Apart from having more apps and some marginally better quality apps and better battery life, going to an iphone 5 would be a serious downgrade.

IPhone 5 has better battery life than the Note 2? I thought the 5's battery life was just a little better than the 4's but still a LONG way behind the Notes. I mean the battery in the Note 2 is nearly the size of the iPhone itself!

Lmao...Better battery life than a Note 2? In what fantasy world?
My Note 2 can last 2 days EASILY with 4G LTE only, 5-7 hours screen time. I would LOVE to see any iPhone do that.

From what I have seen and remember, they're not too different actually. I've read that the iPhone 5 can get up to 8 or so hours of screen on time in a day before dying, which is about the same as I get on my Note 2 if I use it constantly. Normally I only use about 2-3 hours of screen on time in a normal work day though and get home with ~70% left after 9-10 hours off the charger. I think since iOS doesn't let near as many things actively (key word) run in the background as Android, it allows the phone to save a lot more juice.

I use Google Voice and I can't even remember the last time it got a word wrong, including odd street names with Spanish pronunciations.

Also, was using my Galaxy Note II next to an iPhone the next day. I don't see how anyone can go back to such a small screen after using a Note II.

My apologies, I had read a few reviews that I now know exaggerated the iphone 5 battery, just looked at a more reliable site (techradar) and indeed the note 2 creams the iphone 5 battery. Ill be sticking with my note 2.......until note 3 comes out!

Please read about some of the commands Google Now has, it's pretty amazing and will only keep getting better.

No way the iPhone 5 battery life, is anywhere near that of the Note II's.
