It's no mystery that Hollywood tries to shoehorn Apple products in damn near every movie and TV show on the planet but this is a bit ridiculous. Yes, you are looking at nine iDevices on one desk, in between two people.

Fake!!! Those two people are working. :D

No such idevice is in the hands of the working class. :p

at least they are all in 1 scene,

i been watching arrow and keep seeing microsoft product placement everywhere in that series!

lol we should have a contest over who can photoshop the most product placement into one photo

Reading from left to right you have:

1. tablet for pr0n use only (notice we can't see what's playing on it)
2. gov't issued tablet (billed out at >$9k)
3. personal tablet (for distracting people with pictures of kids in permanent slideshow)
4. gov't issued phone (billed out at >$9k as well)
5. "burner" iphone for old mistresses
6. other guy's gov't issued phone
7. burner phone for whores
8. "throwing" phone... obviously for throwing at wall when angry (has extra thick rubber guard)
9. laptop for shenanigans

For years, in the UK, there have been strict rules against product placements. They use to have to put sticky tape over the labels, or make up dummy brands on the soaps and drama series.

Love how its all ipads and iphones, none of their imacs or workstations as placements.

How many iDevices does it take to get the job done? Trick question, none of them get the job done.

Yeah, but the UK has essentially banned everything except the Queen.

It is not banned. It just that some broadcasters can be fined, if there is abuse. Brands are left in movies, and a few other places, and gradually, it has become more tolerated on live shows.

This is from that Netflix show? I guess they have to fund it somehow...

Except that Apple doesn't pay for product placement. They just give loads of free gear to projects whose producers ask if they consider them worthy.

Apple: "So you want money? you need to have 9 product placements in your movie"
DONE! all at once!!

It always amuses me when you see on shows where crime lab people are using crApples to do things. In real life theyd get 10 minutes into the fingerprint scan and it would just lollipop until someone shot it...

At least it isn't as annoying as when actors and radio people endorse products on air or screen. Hi this is "actor of the moment" and when I'm going to sexy town with vapid groupies in an attempt to fill this crushing black hole of despair I feel I do it on a sleep sound mattress. Come down and check out our new stock today. We have layaway!

I hate this shit, mainly because it's so blatant nowadays. Has nothing too do with Apple specifically, though they seem to be one of the worst offenders, but I hate when car companies and other tech companies do it as well.

To the naive newcomer, it makes it look like Apple invented everything. Everything that comes afterwards is a cheap imitation. Those are people they want on juries.

I think it's hilarious that Apple product recognition has come so far that they don't even have to show their logo on screen anymore for you guys, and everyone else, to instantly know it's an iPad/iPhone.

There was a few black berries in there as well not same scene. I really liked the first season can't wait for the second, yeah there was alot of apple products but I don't care so much if there is because I'd rather they make the show well even if they are getting paid by apple etc.

This obviously begs the question, if you were left with 2 options and ooooooonly 2 options:

Would you rather have no commercials but instead subliminal placement ads throughout the show?

or

Five to six commercial breaks for 30-40 second commercials?

I mean from a business perspective its smart. Anything Apple ad related is good for *insert any business name* at the present time, this can obviously change however in the future AND it will but for now it's the IT thing to do for any company.

I have to applaud Nicterys for pointing this out because he's 100% correct in calling a lot of you out. This picture reveals a few of things: 9 out of 10 people would barely pay attention to Ipads/Iphones on the table long enough to recognize what brand they were. And hell, even if they did know, they could care less anyways because the focus should be on the dialogue and the story. It's a television show, not a documentary of the historically accurate portrayal of the species of man in the early 21st century.

Secondly, everyone draws a pitch forks instantly at the moment an Apple logo appears or anything closely resembling an Apple related product. And then you guys regurgitate the same rhetorical garbage day in day out, how evil and merciless they are every time they falsely mislead the the masses on their inferior products. When in reality, all you guys are doing is perpetuating that infamous symbol while giving it power and relevance when it really deserves none. Think about it, we're over analyzing a single image and drawing all these crazy conclusions it almost makes me think I'm on an ATS thread.

Listen, I get it. I'm not an Apple myself, I'm not defending them, but lets be real here and think outside the box for just a moment; The [H]ardOcp is extremely biased towards Apple, which is completely normal and understandable for a plethora of reasons. Their market is generally not geared for the tech literate audience as many of you obviously are. For Apple, good discussion or bad, as long as their name is relevant and people still talk about them, they will continue to exist and make shitty products.

Ultimately though you can only absorb so much camp fire rants before it becomes redundant and anti-progressive to the point where it no longer has any meaning to you as it once had before. All I'm saying is, look at it from a much wider lens and not to over analyze everything. It's a silly ad placement, don't get too technical guys. Ease on the over judicious throttle every now and then...

Haha yep.

Not sure what they will have next for us. Will probably be something that looks almost the same as previous products... /troll post :)

Apple doesn't pay for product placement though, they're super cheap that way.

Apple products get used in shots because the people making these things use them and they look much better than other products out there. Simple.

Whats even lamer is how they use macbooks and iMacs on 90% of tv shows and documentaries and they add a sticker to the Apple logo like it would hide the model of the computer

they could have just been cool and edgy and used pear computers

Well, there has been a lot to complain about how car companies sell cars for years. Half the time, I think its an add for a new song I'm watching that will say 'Now available at iTunes' near the end, perhaps Jeans or an advertisement for fast-food. Ohh nm, they are just trying to make a GM Explorer seem hip and cool.

That's nothing... The Glades has in your face placement... Where the chars would get out of a car... "Hey new car?" "Yeah check out the roomy interior" Camera pans the interior...

Next episode... comments about roomy trunk in same car etc.

I think the most recent product placements I can recall from the shows I watch are Shark Tank droning on and on about how good T-Mobile is and they can use it to call their contacts! Also how great Skype is on Pawn Stars! zomg look you can video chat!

The show Scandal on ABC has switched from iDevices to Microsfot products mid season I believe. Their main charater uses a WP8 and its very clear they focus on the phone alot.

That's kinda what they did in the second season of The Walking Dead.

Burn Notice did a lot of lame plugging for that lame Hyundai Genesis.

Fringe did a lot of lame plugging for Microsoft Sync inside Ford cars.

There's just a lot of general lameness going on.
