I have to send my XFX Radeon 5870 in for service (2 weeks) and would like to buy a cheap video card to keep my ASUS P6x58D Premium system up for office apps until it gets back.

I checked on ebay and I see lots of Dell PCI-E cards for $9 like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/256MB-Dell-CP309-Radeon-HD-X2400XT-PCI-E-x16-DVI-S-Video-LP-Video-Card-/400397840034?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item5d39922ea2

or this one:

Can someone tell me if these will run on my system?

yeah, they will work.
but you need a DMS-59 breakout cable with the first one however.
