Core I7 3770K $229.99 MicroCenter In-Store Only

Its been this price for a couple months. They stopped giving the motherboard discount on it as well.

I'm so sad that they closed the retail store in Silicon Valley. I would have jumped on this :(

look at it this way-they already took the $40 off from the price of the chip...used to be 269.99....

Had the 3770k at 4.7ghz. Changed to a 2500k also at 4.7, and there was no difference in gaming or daily use. Only rendering, transcoding, etc.. will gain anything from the 3770k.

True but its a great price. I did the opposite, went from a 2500k to a 3770k and for what I do, it was a huge upgrade.

I lost a bit of the overclock, but substantially saved time encoding video and editing.

I built myself a 2600k (4.4ghz) machine about 2 years ago now, and was thinking of building a new PC this year. Are there any processors that will even be much of an upgrade to that this year?

Depends on what you do..... If you mostly game, then no there isnt currently a worthy upgrade.

No point in upgrading from a 2600k. I don't recall the exact number, but I believe it was something like a 5‰ gain clock for clock going from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge. I'm sure some one will correct me if that number is wrong.

This is crap... why do they only have in-store purchases? I don't have a MicroCenter within 300 miles.

I bought my 3770k from MC for $229 in NoVA on Christmas Eve last year. They've had this deal for awhile now.

Atlanta Micro Center is offering a combo deal for February - i7 3770k + ASRock Extreme4 $229.99 + $79.99. Hell of a deal. Picked it up last week.

Also, Microcenter has the cpu/mobo combo back at $50 off again. Last month or so, it was at $40.

Anyone know if Fry's Electronics will price match?

It's possible they won't. I tried this on a i7 920 deal a couple years back and they said it was below cost and couldn't price match it.

Granted, that was a couple years back, but it's worth a shot.

if someone is going to micro center soon, would you want to pick me up one too? i can send you the money or gift you a paypal payment either way. im 5hrs to the closest one.

I think I'd honestly rather have the xeon 1230v2 for $199.99. I don't OC & the official ecc & vt-d support is worthwhile!

Being 3 hours and change away from the nearest one in N. VA is such a stupid tease. Gas and time kills it.

Wish they'd bring back the $99 i5 2500K or $50 off any compatible mobo deals again

hmm...I'm going to Little Tokyo in LA for Hanami candy anyways, its just a little under an hour past their. I want to hold off another month before I buy my new computer parts though :(

I picked up a 3770K + Asus P8Z77 this weekend at the Atlanta Microcenter for a build for my son. Great deal.

You mean they even gave you the $40 discount with the 3770K + -V combo? I was told I would pay full price for the board if I don't get either an i3-3225 or i5-3570K.

If i didn't have to drive 27 miles in my 14mpg jeep to get to the deal and pay tax on it i'd might consider it.

Damn do i wish i lived closer to a fry's/microcenter

I live close to frys, but their prices are to dang high. I have to drive 2 hours to a microcenter just to get a deal.

Frys i7 3770k - 339.00
