I am here to possibly get the final bit of information I am going to need in order to pull the trigger on either the PC360 or the MMX 300.

First of all I currently have the Sharkoon X-Static headphones. I have had them for approxamitley 2 years now and they have worked great for me. But, I am looking to make a jump into "higher end" headphones. I mostly play MMO games and some FPS while obviously using programs like Vent / Mumble ect as well.

Now I know that either of the two headsets will be miles ahead of my current ones ... but since both of them have a pretty large price tag I would like to make sure I pick out the best.

From what I have gathered there are both positive things and negative things when comparing the two but my main concern is having a headset that will A- Have amazing sound quality ... B-(VERY IMPORTANT)- Have a crystal clear mic since I tend to use it a lot for gaming but also a mic that doesn't pick up a lot of background noise ... C- Good comfort since I have it on all day ... D- A GOOD MIC !

I have read that the MMX 300's have superior audio but the PC360's have a better mic ... but I have also heard that the PC360's are just as good in terms of audio quality. There seem to be so many conflicting stories and reviews along with fanboys that it makes it hard for me to decide.

Mind you, I will most likely purchase the Mixamp pro as well - as soon as I do some more research regarding it (I have heard some negative reviews about it being faulty-so if you have info on that too please do share).

I know most of the answers are on forums but I guess it brings me some extra peace of mind if I were to get a direct answer from someone that has tested both headsets extensively on here.

-Thanks

I have the pc 360 and beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 250 version, and i will be returning tomorow the pc 360.Let me give u some cons and pros for the pc 360
Sound - Lacks base(at least compared to my 770) games/movies sound a lot better on my 770.Sound is clear but soundstage is smaller and i fell like it lacks something.I'm not an expert to tell u more technical stuff, but in my opinion the pc 360 doesnt sound that good.
Confort - The earcups ar not that big, they cover just enough of your ear to not sit on it,and the clamp is a bit strong.I could fell these headsets on my head from first time ,the 770 u could just loose yourself and forget u even have them on your head.Confort wise for me they are not as confortable as the 770,take in consideration all beyerdynamic headphones share the same earcups = have same confort.
Microphone - this seems to be very good,i had no complaints, the noise canceling is very good.
Maybe for u the 360 will feel confortable, and coming from what u have they would sound good also, but for me after owning for 1 year the dt 770,they are not that great. After i send back my 360 i will be geting the dt880 600ohm and use my web cam mic :) if u can go for hi-fi headphones and get a logitech c920 like i did :p but be warned once u go hi-fi everything else will sound bad...

I think the mic on the mmx should be fine. Unless you intend to use the headset on stage singing karaoke, who care if it sounds good or great? Can they understand you or not is all that matters there.

The MMX is the better by a good amount if you have to have a headset it is the best one you can buy.

There is also the antlion modmic + any good sennheiser headphone like the 598 which would be better sounding than the mmx.

I have used both and can say that the PC 360 is the better choice for gaming. Both the MMX 300 and the PC 360 sound very good for both gaming and music. They do not, however, sound alike. The PC 360 sound is very balanced, smooth, and somewhat airy. In contrast the MMX 300 is dynamic, lively sounding, and bit favored towards both the highs and lows. Both are detailed and pleasant over long listening periods; it's down to the individual listener which sound they prefer.

IMO, The PC 360 has a few advantages over the MMX 300 that give it an edge for gaming:
- Soundstage: The open design is a bit better for placing where sounds come from and how far away the sound may be
- Mic: The mic on this phone is excellent for the price range
- Comfort: While both sets are very comfortable, the closed design of the MMX 300 tended to get warm on my ears over a length of time

Again, both are excellent and, if the MMX 300 were on sale for a decent amount less than the PC 360, I would not hesitate to pick one up.

Hope this helps.

Everything he says here would be exactly why I returned the 300's. The cost would be the only thing I would add.

I really was considering buying the DT770, it's closed which is great because my projector makes noise.

Ive read that by decreasing bass you can get better soundstage with DT770.

Ive read that the DT770 and MX330 use same driver.
