It seems that SilverStone has upgraded their NT06-e. I wonder how it'll perform against the AXP-140 or NH-L12.

or if it could clear the PCIe slots of ITX boards

it be interesting if it would support push pull as well

I'm guessing (take that with a grain of salt) not as good because the APX 140 has more cooling area and the NH-L12 has two fans. That is not to say it is bad however. Until I see actual benches I'd say just not as good.

Anyone purchase this yet? I would like to know how this would stack up against the Noctua Noctua NH-L9a in a SilverStone Sugo SG05 case.

I'm expecting this to cool very well because of its metal mass - 700g with fan.

Comparison:
AXP-140 - 550g without fan
Noctua NH-L12 - 415g without fan, 680g with two fans
NH-L9a - 390g without fan
Prolimatech Samuel 17 - 410g without fan

It looks perfect for SG05/06 where the PSU is on top acting as exhaust and the cooler fan can blow hot air towards the PSU with a push configuration.
The question is whether the heatsink blocks the pci-e slot or whether the bottom fan blocks the ram slot.

My Noctua NH-L9a comes today. Noctua is great because they have a list of compatible motherboards. My ITX FM2 board is listed as compatible. I wish SilverStone had something like that.

I guess I will just stick with the Noctua because a) its coming today and b) its proven and c) it has a 6 year warranty and costs $10 less than the SilverStone with 1 year warranty.

So, it looks like these guys were hitting 4.5ghz @1.14v stable and maxing out at around 90C under prime 95 with this thing. I may need to buy it, considering my max O/C is 3.9 ghz at 80C right now with the Samuel 17 on an SG05. CPU package was 44C max at stock.

I can confirm that it fits the Z77E-ITX. For the ram clearance, the fan will probably hit any ram with heat spreaders.

I remember seeing somewhere that the clearance with stock fan is around 30mm.

30mm is more than enough for most popular low-profile memory. I'm really curious about its performance in the SG05, where the PSU fan acts as the other fan; please let us know what you find!

Cows, what are your temps under load? Have you done a Prime95 run?

I tried Intel Burn Test at max at about 26C ambient, 4.0Ghz overclock, -0.185V offset, Temperature of cores are between 75C and 80C. The GPU next to it is a non-reference GTX260, that should be adding to the heat. CPU is i5-3570K.
Prime95 Large FFT seems to average around 72C for cores.

Frankly, I'm too lazy to retest the temperature with the NH-L12. I'm waiting for some legit review to do the work for me. :)
I got lower temperature with my NH-L12 in my old case which is the Lian Li PC-Q18.
However, I assume that heavier heatsink = better heat dissipation...

Heavier might generally be better haha, but I think there more to consider than just weight. That plus more heatpipes should theoretically help with the temps. Personally I prefer the build quality of the Noctua but seeing that Silverstone built this, you'd think that they'd make something that would work well with their cases.

For those that have a GB Z77N, I find it hard to believe that this wouldn't it in the same orientation:

If anything, the GB looks to have about 1mm more space between the PCI-E and the socket.

Woohoo, success report. Fits fine on a Gigabyte GA-Z77N without blocking the card. I got some of the Samsung ultra low height ram and stuck a 25mm Noiseblocker M12-PS under there with zip ties. Fits perfectly in an SG05/SG06. Next step is sticking a PWM 15mm fan in the PSU and running them on a PWM splitter to get a push/pull going at load. Temps with my closed case with a 3570K at 4.3Ghz are load 80-83C and almost no noise. If you look at the preliminary tests at chiphell against the AXP-100 it looks like this really is the best cooler for the SG05/SG06.

Does the 25mm fan hit anything with the ultra low profile ram? I can't stick a 25mm fan under there because my ram is low profile, not ultra low profile. Default fan is noisy when it spins up under load.

Wow, it really seems this is the best at that height, no wonder it's so expensive (around £45 :()

Actually, I can tell you exactly the amount of space. The samsung ram is 19mm tall and clearance is 52mm, so you've got 33mm of clearance with this stuff. Less the 25mm for the fan and you're clear by 8 mm. Ballistix LP is 30mm by comparison, so you're stuck with the 20mm fan. You can always shift the fan over and zip tie it but I'm not sure what that does to performance. The worst part, honestly, was running the zip ties through the silicone corners of the fan and then through the hsf fins. It runs 1600mhz at 8-8-8 rock solid through the intel burn test so no loss in performance, and its only $40.

I decided to replace the default fan since it's too loud for me. I was able to squeeze a 25mm thick Noctua fan under it, it's putting some pressure on the first ram slot and not recommended, but possible.

I have boh th ASUS H77 itx & Z77itx in SG05s and the problem is that although the NT06 Pro cooler fits, the front panel usb 3.0 connector is problematic. It really needs a right angle adapter since the cable is so stiff that it will not stay in the socket. It would be very nice if companies would supply compatability lists then we would not be waisting hard earned cash.
Has anyone found a workaround?

I broke a pin in my USB 3.0 header, so my front panel is connected to my USB 2.0 header. Have you tried holding it with tape?

Anyone know if it'll fit in a Lian Li PC-Q25. The website says it can fit an 80mm tall cooler but the NT06 is 82mm.

Backplate won't fit on the p8h77-i without mods. IC's get in the way. Pajopet, did you use the backplate at all?

I will be looking at fitting a NT06-PRO on my P8H77-I today. Hopefully it will work out.

EDIT: It fits if you replace the rectangular plastic spacers (they come off without damage) with smaller round plastic spacers. I used white vinyl nuts from Home Depot's hardware section as spacers. The only problem is I was trying to install this cooler in an Elite 120 case, and I never got the memo that it is too tall.

I didn't check if it would block the PCI slot. Once I found the cooler was too tall for the Elite 120, I immediately gave up.

What I did was put the Sam 17 on the p8H77 and the NTo6 Pro with the backplate on the P8Z77 Where it fit quiote nicely with the exeption of the usb 3.0 connector. So as you can see I didn't even try it on the P8H77 . { that plate isnt what I would call a back plate, it fits on the yopside of the mobo, doesn't it. Regardless the unit is in its' box and I am temperarily using the Intel cooler. Sorry for the delay in rply as I have been under the weather as they say.
cheers
