It looks like the TV networks behind Hulu finally got what they wanted.

"What is an understatement," Kilar wrote on the company's blog, "this email has proven difficult for me to both write and send. I've decided to depart Hulu in Q1. I am currently working with the Board to ensure there is ample runway to manage this transition."

Unless this leads specifically to "Hulu Plus with no ads, ever", this is a meaningless forced resignation and Hulu needs to freeze in the ninth circle of Hell.

The networks want it to fail. The reason they wanted him gone was because despite all the limitations and restrictions they all wanted he still managed to create a profitable service. This does not mean they will walk away from digital but they rather do it themselves than with someone else, even if they created that 3rd party themselves.

This puts Comcast in a good position to start doing things with it.

Is it just me or does that line sound like pointy haired manager speak for "give me a chance to stock up on pencils and post-its before I jump ship"

Hulu and Netflix is pretty much the only way I watch TV these days except for sports and some news. If the networks manage to run these services out to put their own horrible implementation in then I will have no problem not watching any of the programming.

This..all day. I finally got around to trying the Hulu+ free trial the other day. Found a few of the shows I want to watch..got forced to watch a bunch of commercials through it..Cancelled the trial within 2 hours. I put up with enough of that BS with cable, I don't need to pay for more.

*Forced to buy HBO cable tv channel if you want Hulu plus, which has all of HBO's new shows, Hulu standard only carries their old shit*

*Forced to sit through endless fucking ad's for either service, one you are paying for*

*Hulu operators wondering why everyone is leaving at mach 10, when they could just look across the street at XBOX live and their rapidly plummeting subscription numbers since pushing the endless ad's*

Yup -- seems companies don't understand the concept:

When I give you money -- I expect to see my fucking show without sitting through more BS.

It's like if you paid a hooker and before you could get what you paid for you have to sit through 15 minutes of bitching and screaming. If that's how it's going to be you might as well just go home to your wife for sex .

Heh -- I'm actually not married so I don't know if my analogy is accurate, but it's pretty damn funny.

This is why I don't pay to see movies - 10 dollars for a ticket? okay - but for that price I don't want to see a single fucking advertisement AND I get to throw all my garbage on the floor.

Because somehow the dollars you pay people are more important than the dollars they pay you.

You mean the fifth layer, Stygia. A vast cold wasteland dominated by the river Styx :)
