Hello all. So I've been using my Logitech X-540s for quite a while now and I feel like it's about time to upgrade. I know there's a lot of info out there but I'm just overwhelmed at the vast selection there is. I'm hoping not to spend more than $250 if possible, $300 max. From what I've read home audio seems to be better than PC speakers right? I would like to have 5.1, however if I can get a 2.1 setup that would sound better than a 5.1 for the same price I'll go for it.
I'll be using these for gaming, music, and movies. I wouldn't consider myself an "audiophile" but I do appreciate a good sounding system. I've wanted the Corsair SP2500 for a while, but I'd like to hear your opinion on it. A lot of people have recommended the Onkyo HT-S3500, but almost as many have said against it. That's about where I am now lol. I don't even know where else to look. Any help is appreciated.
PS: I do like bass, so an 8"+ is a must for me.
Edit: As you can see in my sig I have an Xfi Titanium. I'm not sure how I'd go about hooking up a receiver to it, or if there's some reason I shouldn't. Would I use optical?
