Include Sprint SIM when selling LTE phone?

I know that when selling a normal GSM phone you remove the SIM because it has all your contacts and account info on it, but when selling a Sprint (CDMA) phone with LTE (specifically the iPhone5) should the SIM be removed or left in? (i.e. does it include account data or just the equivalent to a "universal LTE Password"?)

Can Sprint SIMs even be accessed? I know with some newer phones, they're internal sims that can't be touched. Rule of thumb is, if you CAN remove it, then remove it.

I've never seen a sprint phone with a sim card in it... Its possible the iphones have them as I've never played with one before, but typically sprint doesn't use them.

This is exactly why I asked ;)

I dont have a SIM reader, so *shrug*

LTE is a GSM technology, so all LTE phones have a SIM in them, however some (like the SG Note 2) literally have it built onto the board so it cant be removed without some serious mod'ing)

The SIM goes with the phone for Sprint. It does not store any personal data.

That's what I figured, since the SIM is only there to access 1 still-not-widespread radio. Thanks! :)

I didn't realize that... My htc evo 4g lte doesn't have one either.

Which Sprint phones do?

I personally know that the iPhone5 has a swapable one and the Note2 has an embedded (but still technically swappable) one, I also seem to recall the Thunderbolt (on VZW) has one. Technically all "GSM" phones (meaning LTE) have a SIM of some kind, though it looks like some companies are making them "non removable" like with the Note2...

Sprint uses not-removable SIM cards for LTE. Verizon uses normal SIMs for LTE. ATT/T-Mo are normal SIMs.

The only 4G LTE phone on Sprint with a non-embedded sim is the iPhone 5. I don't know why they do it. I called them out on the sprint forum for being international business traveler customer unfriendly. Sprint tells me that their Motorola is a world phone despite being an embedded sim as well; in which by world they mean world roaming agreements... Which is like every frigging phone on Sprint.

It should be noted that some phones, Specifically the Note 2 and I want to say one of the Motorola phones have mods available so they can accept SIM cards (the note2 in fact is as simple as removing the back then the "second back (white plastic cover hiding the ribon cables) and swapping out the reader for the SD/SIM card (though as of now support of USA sims is a no-go and support of international SIMs is unconfirmed --- but it recognizes them - all that's left is writing a software-unlock for the radios) --- so there is a light at the end of the tunnel at least.

Anyone who's curious, here's the thread in question:
