For anyone that cares...its here! Cant wait for some reviews to compare its performance with other similar coolers and its big brother the AXP-140.

Heh. Your post is burried :p

I think you are not the only one waiting for it. Keep us updated. I am about to jump on it for the AsRock ITX.

wow, thats pretty badass. Now to get a closed loop water system that small.... :p

Can't to get my hands on one. That is one sexy little cooler!

stoked -- my tiny build needs one of these so I can put the PSU back in the box (doesn't fit with an AXP-140) :D

They are on assembly line now so hopefully will be on shelves before X-mas

Always wanted to try AXP-140. Be interested in hearing how new AXP-100 compares to it.

There arent any reviews yet and I cant find any on sale either. Not sure how good the cooling will be going from 140mm to 100mm. Kinda wish they made a AXP-120 instead. That would almost be prefect!

There used to be XP-120, it was great, even used it on LGA775. It was 5 heatpipes IIRC, though not double sided.

This AXP doesn't look that low profile, the Noctuas and Scythe's are smaller I believe, so not as impressive, hope at least the performance is there, better really.

I'm guessing that 6 pipes will make it pretty good, even with the small included fan. Kinda like how the True Spirit 120 performs against the big dogs. ;)

Being cooler is 121.1x105.47 mmx44.1mm and stock fan is 108.25xH101.5x14mm it's only 58.1mm tall. Add at least 25mm for airflow to fan and it will work nicely in cases with as little as 83.1mm CPU clearance.

Comes with an adjustable Enhanced Fan Mount for use with 120mm and 140mm fans for those of us with enough room and heat to need more air. So if you have 100mm of CPU clearance you can put bigger/thicker fans on for more cooling.

The thing with LP coolers, they just make me wonder where the priority is on the builds. Or rather I think it's silly to start losing out on performance, at least for the really low LP coolers, this one should perform well.

Case in point, if you have to go to a very LP cooler when your case uses a ATX PSU, that's silly to me. Any SFF build should have mATX PSU or smaller..

Their mark is for applications where low heat CPU's and low profile cases are wanted. HTPC for one. Have a couple of friends who have low performance low power consumption system for surfing and such.

They do have their place... and better than stock coolers ;)

... and quieter too. Not everyone requires water cooler super overclocked PCs just to surf the web. My current PC is practically silent while idle.

Practical SFF's? Get the hell out of here. lol

Wish we'd see more of them actually. Not these ITX large cases where everyone wants to stuff water cooling into. As for this being for low heat, this HSF is overkill for 35W or less. Unless you want to go passive.

Oh but it's so sexy looking ;)

Silverstone do some nice compact cases
Like the SST-PT12B(DH61AG chassis 410(W) x 261(D) x 52(H)

Google "slim htpc/desktop cases" and click on images. Some really beauties.

After much digging around, I wonder how well the AXP-100 compares to the Silverstone NT06-PRO. They both have "similar" heights.

I too wonder about this. The original NT06 wasn't the best thing (it wasnt the worse either)around and although a fan certainly helps its still older tech with just a fan. I'd give the nod to the AXP-100 since its newer tech design. I'm looking forward to a detailed performance review between the two if anyone does one.

NT06 . = . 140x139x82mm
AXP-100 = 121.1x105.4x44.15mm + 14mm fan = 58.15mm total.
That's 18.9x34x23.85mm smaller.

This means AXP-100 will fit boards with PCI slots closer to cpu socket.

Not sure about the newer tech design theory. Older Thermalright cooler like Ultra 120 A and Cogage Arrow are still as good as brand new designs.

not to mention with the reduction in height this will be much better than the NT06 for many ITX cases which place the PSU over the top of the motherboard (Silverstone/Lian-Li)

Well the NT06-PRO is designed to fit in a SG05. Might not fit some of the Lian-Li's with lesser height restrictions. Only concern with that is memory clearance and I think 32mm is the max.

Overclockers UK is now taking pre-orders for AXP-100 so could be showing up any time. Of course they started taking pre-orders for new Kraken X60 4 weeks ago and not in yet. ;)

I have one ordered elsewhere and hoping it arrives this week. Don't have a HTPC but my 980 w/TC14PE is on bench waiting for other bits I'm expecting in same shipment. Will mount AXP-100 and see how it does on 980 compared to Phanteks. Not a fair comparison but at least will give us something to use as a reference.

Do post back with your impressions. I am itching to know how it performs.

I will. Wish I had access to the Samuel 17 and the Big Shuriken 2 for comparison testing. As both are similar coolers it will be interesting to see if AXP-100 can beat them.
Big Shuriken 2 = 125 x 135 x 46mm + 14mm or 25mm for 120mm fan
Samuel 17 . . = . 121 x 120 x 45mm + 14mm or 25mm for 120mm fan
AXP-100 . . = . . 121.1 x 105.47 x 44.15mm + 14mm for 100mm fan or 25mm with 120mm fan mount

The BS2 and S17 seems almost better on paper...but we all know that doesnt mean much. I have not found a site that actually compares all of these coolers, probably throw the NH-L12 and the NT06-PRO to spice it up too.

Check out SilentPCReview for comparisons of the NH-L12, big shuriken 1 & 2 and Samuel. They compare the heatsinks with the same fan which helps get at the actual effectiveness of the heatsink. The fan is a Nexus 120mm.

Link for comparison across NH-L12, Big Shuriken 1 & 2

Link for comparison across NH-L12, Big Shuriken 1, Samuel

Link for comparison across Big Shuriken 1, NT06-E (not Pro) (Note: the review is from 2009 with a different test system than the other two links above)

In short, the NH-L12 is the one to beat, but the big shuriken 2 is solid. The Samuel and NT06-E are disappointing.

To be fair, though, the NH-L12 is 83mm tall with the top fan, much taller than either the sammy or axp-100 (closer to a AXP-140 comparo)

That's true, but Jubbie did want to know how they all compared.

With the 120mm fan on top, the NH-L12 is tall, 93mm according to Noctua's site. However, the NH-L12 can be run with a 120mm fan on the bottom and not on the top (66mm tall), although it can cause small mounting difficulties. The 120mm fan on the bottom doesn't seem to worsen the temperature (can't be certain, but if it does it is not by much). But too avoid headaches, if I wanted a short heatsink (<70mm) I'd probably grab the Big Shuriken 2, that is until we see the dominance of the AXP-100.

I have an NH-L12 with only the bottom 92mm fan in my Sugo SG05bb, and I just bought a NT06-Pro to give it a try. I'll post what my temp differences are when I get it changed out.

Without the top fan, the NH-L12 isn't great, I expect the NT06 to beat it by a ways. Especially if I can cram a Noctua NF-F12 in place of the thin silverstone fan it ships with.

Yeah. it would make for some good data for others to go by for future references. Thanks for doing it. :)

I'm expecting an AXP-100 in about a week. Was told yesterday it was posted and should arrive in less than a week. Will to a quick test on my 920 that's on my bench. Don't have any other low profiles to compare it to but can compare it to HR-02, old Cogage Arrow and old 4 pipe Ultra 120. Guess that's better than nothing. ;)

Heh..that took longer than a week. Do keep us informed when you receive it and do some tests.

Well you know how it is. Promises, promises. "The check's in the mail", "Supplier didn't supply", "Boat was delayed", "Christmas rush", yadda, yadda.

Would have really been surprised if it had arrived in a week.

Only one site in the UK has this listed so far with the ETA as 28/01/13. :(

Hopefully it won't be so long until you get it.

Saw about $60 USD mentioned somewhere...practically last piece of the puzzle I'm waiting to appear...bloody thing's been promised since November...and still no sightings in the wild...vapor ware? :p
