The dumbest case ever is now on sale. Someone needs to get fired.

Dumbest case ever? Pish-posh! I've never seen a computer tower more likely to get you laid.

Thats probably the coolest most creative case I have ever seen!;)

Hey, if this was a Union Pacific "Big Boy," then it would be an awesome case. Who needs a power supply? Just fill that tender full of fuel oil! :D

There's definitely a market for steampunk computers.

The ad implies that this is the premium model that moves and smokes, therefore there should be a non-moving non-smoking model. If its at $150, I'm in. My wife has a home daycare with an ITX HTPC. Switching to the train would make it fit in the theme of the room better.

I'd have liked to be a fly on the wall in the meeting that came up with this case and approved it. Just how much were they drinking? :) It's definitely creative, but to approve that for manufacture and marketing? I can't believe they'll make any money on this thing.

(...) Maybe next they will build a Mad Cat MkII case (...)

*drool*
Or a Baneblade Super Heavy Tank...

If they ever release such a case my ability to make decisions based on reason will be utterly and completely crushed by the might of those god-machines/batlle mechs...

Or Joe, you simply have no taste either, kinda like Kyle Bennett himself.

What's the deal with the "Kyle Bennett has no taste" comment? He hasn't even been in this thread... And yes, because we don't like something you do, we've got no taste.

I don't really know why people are hating on the case, I personally don't find it neat at all but I'm sure plenty of people do and are willing to pay for it. Just like with, well, anything really.

haha...fucking awesome case, saw this about 3 months ago on techpowerup didn't know their was a thread on it until now LOL

I'd mount some deltas on it and see if it could be air propelled with blue smoke coming out the funnel! :D

Where can you buy the standard version (MSRP $229)? My Dad would fall to the ground in convulsions and foam at the mouth if he got this for Christmas (and I mean that a good way).

The PC-CK101S isn't coming up on a quick Google search for me - might be released after the limited edition sells out...

I remember reading about this during Computex coverage. First thing that came to mind was that there are some rail fans out there that would absolutely freak out over this case. If you've ever spent a fair amount of time on a train simulator forum like me, you would know.

Not saying that I like it, but I will give Lian Li credit for being... uh... creative.

If Lian Li, or anyone, ever does a case with a Pennsy GG1, then I'll dump my Corsair 700D as fast as The Congressional Limited between NY and Wash DC. :D :D

LOL discontinued.

OK, OK - I'm not in the audience for this case either.

But before you gloat about it being discontinued, maybe you ought to check Lian Li's site - the Premium (with track & atomizer) edition was only 80 units:

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=625&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=64&g=spec

There will be another version without the atomizer but with the track, and then the base model.

PC-CK101S - standard

PC-CK101L - with track

PC-CK101P - premium - with track & atomizer (limited to 80 units)

Oh so it was limited edition then?

Did you read my post?

The Premium was limited to 80 units and came with a length of track and an atomizer to make it puff steam. That is the model that was linked to at Newegg.

If you go to the Lian Li link I posted, at the bottom of the page it shows the 3 different models.

:D

When asked for comments about his latest computer case design and several internet posts proclaiming "I hate trains!", Lian Li's guest designer Dr. Sheldon Cooper had this to say:
Dr. Sheldon Cooper said:
"Don't be silly, you love trains."

Although I find it hard to get excited by methods of transportation that leave the driving up to someone else, and especially with those that are limited to following a predetermined track - I do love actually riding on trains. Not necessarily here in the US, but everytime I go to Germany it is a great experience.

But - I'd prefer a case made to resemble an iconic automobile or fully-faired racebike... for myself.

Hmmm.... idea!

A 1/5th scale RC car shell PC case mod!:p;):D

These are from FG Modellsport:
