Planetside 2

I gave $10, so the game I paid money for a game that has game breaking bugs, how about you go troll somewhere else if your not smart enough to post something worth while.

Ehg... you weren't obligated to buy anything. You could have been just as well off saving your money until the games bugs had been worked on.

Lol. You paid $10 for some extras despite thinking the game is broken. You must be an Ivy League grad. There are no game breaking bugs. If there was, people would be talking about it all over place.

You're just entitled it seems.

Booooo hoooooo

So having everything but the sky disappear isn't game breaking huh?

I also didn't realize all the bugs that were in the game when I went ahead and supported them with my money.

I'm not an ivy league grad, but reading your posts makes me feel like one.

I feel sorry for you if spending money on something and being upset that it doesn't work right is feeling "entitled." Though now that I think about it, I am entitled to a working product, especially since I paid for it.

Are deaths sometimes not being reported on your stat sheets? Looking at the leaderboard > Outfit, my friends have insane KDRs of like 25.0+, and like 200 kills with 25 deaths. My friend says he's died at least that many times in the past few hours alone, so that can't be right.

I thought I was doing really well with my 2.8 KDR. Bugged I think. :p

LOL.

You paid for some unessesary extras. The game was free and you elected to spend money before you even tested out the free game.

This is solely your fault.

Fucking QQ'er of the year right here.

So because he spent money on something, it is his fault the game doesn't work?..

...right

This is simple.

The game is free. You have the option to spend money to buy rainbow decals and sidegrades, if you want.

Being that it is a free game, people should do the intelligent thing and play the fucking game before throwing any money into it.

The QQ'ing user failed to do this, and such will receive no sympathy from me.

Again - boo hoo, my free game doesn't work! :(

Right, I get that, but the way you worded that you essentially said it is his fault that the game is broken

I don't see any issue with what darkstarcow is doing. He supported the game, but wants to see issues fixed. How can that happen if no one wanted to support PS2? Its no charity. There is still a number areas that need fixing, honestly I don't think it was ready for launch just yet. Its workable yes, but it could of been a much better experience for others. Like if it was possible to bring up the performance further before launching.

Ok, I just downloaded and played a bit.

I have no idea what is going up but this game looks to be a blast.

Is there anyway to start a [H] steam name list?

If you had read back just 2 pages, you would see that I had played the game before spending money on it, but go ahead and showing just how ignorant you are by assuming some more.

So now that I have proven yet another one of your posts wrong, how about you go play outside while the adults discuss the game like we were before you started making stupid comments?

At least we know who to blame now for broken stuff.

Damn you Darkstarcow why was it all laggy for me?!!?!:D

Sorry, the hamster assigned to server #4 fell asleep on the wheel, I went ahead and injected him with some coke so he should be good for the next 2 days...

I think if they restart the servers once a day it will solve most of the issues they are having for now as a short term fix.

Which was my point. You either did

a) bought paid for content without playing
b) bought paid for content while playing and having "issues"

either is idiotic.

Sorry. No sympathy. You have no right to complain.

It only counts for the area you are in and resets every time you enter a new area. It will keep your permanent stats at the bottom of the screen for the entire duration you are playing but will update the leader board with others in the local zone. Guess for bragging rights within the zone during a specific conflict. I'm not sure if they meant for it to work this way or not.

For those of you who have tried it and didn't like it there is a learning curve. So don't give up 30 minutes in, it may take a few hours to figure it all out if you don't have a vet helping you. The game completely changes once you figure out what's going on.

YÄeah, game is difficult to grasp at the beginning. I played for maybe 6 hours but I still puzzled how to destroy power generators? I can compromise them by using E key but then how to explode them?

Also, ingame voice chat quality - is it me or is it terrible? I mean I hear people , I reduce ingame sounds and increased voice chat volume. Still while I hear people I can barely understand them. Is it me only?

Damnit! Fix it! I want results within the week! :D

They are probably counting on the initial surge of players to die down. Having a pile of servers for the initial surge levels probably isn't good. After the first month things should probably level out. :D

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HAVING TROUBLES WITH FRAME RATES:

See here.

After doing this I was able to pull 30+ fps in large battles (will dip down lower when noobs are spamming rockets, but not terrible) and 60+ fps otherwise. On a macbook retina.

You'll want to adjust the resolution to your native resolution, of course. Also check the sound settings -- for some reason they're lower than usually (just adjust them in-game after you apply this). Don't replace the entire useroptions file -- just the stuff that is pasted in that thread.

Tootles.

That link just shows people how to manually adjust their graphics to just about the lowest possible. It also will lower your view distance to a fairly low distance.

A quick search of the official forum would get you the exact same information.

Square blind people firing square guns into square enemies in the square 8 bit colored world. Sounds lie Minecraft to me :)

No.

I had been running the lowest settings -- this makes changes to several other settings that I don't believe are available in the in game menu.

I also think the FOV is at max.

And LOD hasn't been an issue for me. Things look better and run better than my previous all-low settings I was trying.

If anyone is playing VS Heavy Assault and thinking about getting the "Lasher," don't do it. I just asked for it to be removed from my inventory and my SC and certs refunded due to how broken it is. The stated damage is really inaccurate and so is the range, hosing someone from behind just to have them turn around and kill you with only half their shields missing is really aggravating. The gun has no scopes, even though it says it is "long range," and the bullet spread is really bad beyond short/medium range.

The weapon to get from what I have read is the "Flare."

Started playing this last night. Confusing as hell, so i just killed everyone on the opposite team.

I dunno how to upgrade weapons or anything like that -_-

Hit "escape" and click on the "certs" button on the bottom, it will take you to the upgrade screen. In order to buy new gear you have to click the "depot" button to the right of the "certs" button.

This game could definitely be GOTY in my book if they fix the current problems and boost how fast you earn certs, right now at 100 certs/hour it would take something like 100+ hours to fully upgrade one class, not including weapons.

I'm loving this game and purchased a month sub last night. The priority login really helps. I waited about 10 minutes to login last night, splurged on the sub and was able to login within 3 seconds or so.

I purchased the GR22 and threw the IR/NV scope on it. It makes it much easier for me to see others since it's highlights targets in bright white on a black background. I also ended up buying the spawn upgrade for the Sunderer. I thought I was going to be a certified badass so I hopped in the Sunderer and drove 15 minutes through mountains to attack an out of the way base only to find that I didn't equip the spawn point.

I don't really have any complaints with the performance. Running everything on high and a few options on "ultra" gives me 60 fps most of the time that drops down into the mid-30s during big battles (4Ghz i7 and 1260Mhz GTX670). PrecisionX shows that the 670 is getting 95+% usage but it never goes above 60C or so (Most new games will peg the temp just below 80C) so I'm not sure it's correct. The CPU is only showing 20% usage also so there may be some more optimization left for the devs to do.

Certs should be gained at a faster pace and the weapons should be cheaper IMO. I want the two rocket launchers that have lock-on capability but they each cost either 1000 certs or $7.

I tried playing as a medic since in general I shoot like crap but am always in the right spot at the right time. After an hour I realized that these guys playing with me couldn't shoot much better than me and always were in the wrong spot at the wrong time. :) Going to give it another go tonight to see if I can figure out what I'm supposed to be doing better.

The action and pacing in the game seems pretty well thought out but there are lots of empty areas that can get boring at times. I think I would need at least a month before I could call this game good or not.

I think you mistook what I said with the "tab" key. Like when you press TAB and see kills/deaths/etc - I know that particular function is for the area.

But when you browse the actual Leaderboards, and set it to Outfit, it has everyone's stats in there, including played time. My friends absolutely did not get 400+ kills in a single area. :p My stats are pretty accurate though (93 - 33), whereas some of my friends are 200 - 7, and have confirmed that at least the deaths portion is completely out to lunch.

I tried this, started up the game and it was running at the 100fps cap I set, I set everything to "low" and it still ran at 100 fps. The fun didn't continue though, after about 10 minutes I dropped down to about 60fps, 28-32 in fights. Going to play with some of those settings to see what causes the biggest problem for me.

Your best asset as a medic is a team full of terrible players. :D

A medic at the center of any meatgrinder ends up rezzing the same guys over and over.

Played for several hours this weekend; even as a pretty veteran PC gamer, I have to say the game has quite a steep learning curve. I'm still not sure how to unlock vehicles or MAX units. I should RTFM - if only there was a manual. I hate watching tutorial videos, give me something to read at my own (much faster) pace.

The scale is definitely fantastic. Was in a large 3 way battle for most of the time I was playing with NC having only a small foothold and getting hit on both sides by Vanu (me) and TR, yet still fighting like sonsofbitches. It's fun, yet definitely a bit "meaningless" playing solo.

As negatives...I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to sync up with a friend in-game. The squads don't seem to add much to the game right now, I wish they offered a bit of extra incentives for them. I see that squad leaders can spawn a beacon, but again couldn't figure out how to do that; I was looking all around the menus and loadout screens to see how to equip it, but  . The char models look good, but the terrain and base textures are abysmal. I understand due to the scale and # of players, but still...at 2560x1600, I had to drop a few settings to medium, even with the rig in sig. Would be nice if AMD released some new drivers for it (have they?) that also take into account the 6000 series...seeing as how all their latest drivers haven't done anything for them though, I'm not optimistic.

And overall, to me, the combat "feel" is just slightly off - it doesn't feel impactful to me very much. Maybe I'll like it more as time goes on - the game is deep and I very much want to like it. But that's something in a FPS that it either has or doesn't have, and to me I'm leaning more towards PS2 not having it, unfortunately. Also, you earn certs WAY too slow, however I'm sure that is meant to make you purchase them instead.

Next time, I'm going to watch the tutorials, try and join an outfit and see how I can get in on some organized play, because I'm sure that will give me the true feeling of what this game can be.

Vehicles and MAX units are unlocked from the start. You just need to go to a vehicle control panel and hit 'E'. The vehicles cost vehicle resource points.

The MAX units are also unlocked from the start. You need infantry resource points to spawn as one.

I've not played as a squad leader so my info may not be correct but I don't think that he/she can just create a spawn beacon; Light Assault players can use their cert points to buy the spawn beacon ability. The Sunderer can also be specced as a spawn point if you buy the proper cert (I think it's called AMS).

I could have sworn I saw some tooltip or read somewhere that a squad leader can create a spawn beacon. Hrm, I'll have to look it up now. Really, they should be able to. Right now there is nothing beneficial about being in a squad, and it doesn't seem to help teamplay very much. IMO there needs to be some more advantages for random groups of people to work together better.
