Making this thread to compile various SSD deals and hopefully get some inputs. I'll post them as I come across them, starting this afternoon. Feel free to contribute. One other thing I want to do is post review links. I'm a little confused myself on all the different manufacturers and models, and every time I see a deal, I'm not sure if it's a nice brand new reliable 500MB/s drive, or some junky old one on clearance. If anyone has a link to guides or a rule of thumb, please post it. I'll try to find as many reviews as I can.

we can do better than that

they had the M4 128 for $75 the other day, not the newest drive but still

The 180gb Intel 330 is showing back in stock at Newegg for me. Looks tempting, but I want to see everything that's available before pulling the trigger on something.

Is anyone familiar with them? How does the 330 stack up against the 335 and the 510? I'm having a hard time figuring out which ones are the good performers, and which ones are budget/low end models. I've heard that the Intel 335 and Samsung 830 / 840 / 840 Pro are all solid performers, but then there's some pretty sick deals on OCZ ones, of which there seem to be a million models, and then there's also the Crucial M4 which I had thought was one of the fastest on the market, but that was months ago and I don't know if that is still the case.

The 180GB Intel was out of stock for a few hours, but just came back within a couple minutes, and I pulled the trigger.

180 for 100 is better than 128 for 75. The 240gb intel 330 for 139 and the 250gb samsung 840 non-pro for 160ish after the promo code seemed solid, but all the regular 840 reviews pointed to it being a good budget drive, not neccessarily faster than the Intel, and there didn't seem to be a compelling difference between the 330 and the 335, for a 20 dollar difference.

Yeah, I'd definitely go with NE over Tigerdirect. I think Intel was good with rebates, but it's worth ten bucks to me to not deal with the hassle or the risk. Also, no PA tax for Newegg.

I ordered two, and paid the extra $1.99 for 3-day shipping rather than Egg Saver. Egg Saver is so slow, and since I'm within about a hundred miles of one of their warehouses, 3-day shipping is pretty much next-day shipping.

It's pretty cool how times change. Two years ago on BF, the best SSD deal was the 120GB Intel X-25M for $165 after a $35 rebate. This year, it's 50% more storage, 2-2.5x as fast, and ~60% of the price. And, if I remember correctly, last year, the best deals were in the $160-$170 range for a 120GB Sandforce with no rebates.
