Intel core i5 2500K $99 [MicroCenter]

Oh man. WHY THE HELL DID THE SANTA CLARA STORE CLOSE!!!! I would be all over this!

$99 + 6.25% TAX + $10 gas + $10 toll...

$125 for a 2500k...

Man I want to get in on this but I am not going to make the drive. Chicago central location is OOS but Westmont still appears to have some - nope, as I was typing this they went OOS too. What a deal. I really wish I could get one of these.

If anyone is already going and they are still in stock. . . PM me if you would be able to pick up one or two extra's to ship to me. I would appreciate it :D

Probably too late though :(

I don't know how accurate the website is but I think I just checked every location and they are all out of stock according to the website.

The bitch of it is that they probably will no longer stock the 2500K at all.

Is MC going to no longer carry the 2500k? This seems like an inventory blowout.

It'd be a shame if that's the case.

Pretty crazy that Denver is OOS already. They had a ton 3 days ago.

As I said on SD....3570K's used to be $10-$20 more (IIRC 2500K was $169/everyday sale price). Now the 3570K's are $169....no reason to have 'old' 2500K's around. I'd say these are inventory clearouts.

Eh works for me, I'd much rather have SB's better TDP than IB's. ;)

Put in my pickup order around 9:30...got the 'pickup ready' email around 10:10 after Brentwood opened. Grabbed it at lunch...they had a cart full of these with pickup slips taped to all of 'em. :D

We are also well into november, so black friday sales are basically already happening and this just might be one of them.

I was just at the Boston store like 30min ago. They still had like a dozen in the case. They also had like 5 3770k, which the site claims is out of stock.

Anywayd if anyone is interested in either I might be able to snag one more of each since it looks like the gpu I got there is faulty and I have to exchange it tomorrow morning

They are out of stock because people pre order them online. Maybe you can convince the guys at the store to just take one for you anyway. But basically early this morning or whenever the email went out everyone bought them all immediately. Now they will just sit in the store for up to 3 days before those people pick them up, some may not even pick them up so maybe going into the store in 2 days you will get some when the system automatically returns them.

Well, i just picked mine up in KC... got the last one.

Wish i had a rig for it to go into....

Anyone check the Chicago Center Store?
Don't want to drive out to Westmont to bother checking.

Bingo, I got my Q9550 a couple years ago when the i-cores started to become the dominant processor for like $75 I think. They wanted them gone, me I was happy to oblige since it fit into my old mobo and was a huge upgrade from the e6300 I had (not the newer rereleased one too, the older one)

Nice deal but i pass already order something from MC and sent it back and there telling me it going take 10 days before they issue me a refund i'm staying far away from MC.

The lower the TDP the better, not the other way around.

Wrong term then.....I knew I shouldn't have thrown 'TDP' in there instead of 'temps'. ;)
Maybe it's still correct....I mean when oc'ing. Ah who knows.
SB lower temps > IB higher temps

SB oc's better, lower temps, generally lower volts. = preferred.
That's what I was trying to get across. ;)

I actually saw the post on SD before the email ever arrived. Hell I think my "pickup order is ready" email came before the deal email did too. :)
In any event ~ plastered all over the site it says 'store pickup RECOMMENDED'. They offer it, charge nothing for it....eh, you give me the choice, I'm doing it. Even if they sit on it for 2 days before the person picks it up....they just got it before you did. Early bird gets the worm.

And FWIW the system doesn't "automatically return them". When I bought a G550 there, it was held until Sunday. When I went there Monday morning, it was still in the pickup area and had not been returned to the case in the back. The site still reported that my store was OOS (I'd bought the last one). But YMMV...

If someone is willing to pick one up for me I will pay $125 in paypal funds if they can ship it to me, I don't even need you to send the hsf with it. heat is ssnyder28.

If anyone has a spare or wants to sell I'll buy it from you for a fair deal. Thanks!

Congrats to everyone that got in on this historic phasing out sale, hopefully we see some of these in the FS section soon, for all us members gaming on a budget ;)

Got the 2500k deal now if my local MC had the 3770k I could order that for pick up as well.

Going to sell my delidded 3570k and the 2500k and use the money to pay for new 3770k!!! Thank you MC. :)

More likely to end up on ebay, although I'm sure a few will be found on here.

I personally don't need one, but my friend does. As soon as he can get his CPU, I can have my 2600K back. (he's using it as a loner!) So, if anyone grabs one of these today or tomorrow...I can shoot ya the money ASAP for it.

Just picked one up from Marietta GA store. They have 10+ non reserved available at the time I purchased.

Picked up the last one from Detroit/Madison Heights that was not reserved via the web. They had 33 in stock and 32 were reserved for web orders. They did not think they were getting more, but he did not know.

That is pretty damn nice. I paid $180 for my 2500k. But I did get $50 off the mobo with it so.... : / Trying to make myself feel better.

Why can't online stores have prices like MC?

Because they don't have to. B&M's are losing business to online so these sales are to get bodies into the store since they're statistically likely to buy other things while there for the loss-leader item.

Why can't online stores have prices like MC?

It's because it's become a trend now for stores like these to rape our wallets and we have no choice but to buy from them.

- If anyone can hook me up with one of these, then I'll appreciate it. Would pay through PayPal in advance.
