Grand Theft Auto V Trailer #2

Rockstar will take the typical 6-8 months after the "big 2" consoles get their games out, then the PC version will come out, obviously bugged and what not because they don't pay as much attention to a PC version and they figure that they can always offer an "update" to fix it.

Either way, when it comes out on the PC I will get it sometime afterwards and not a day before :)

Was any of that actual gameplay? It looked like a mashup of all the pre-rendered cut scenes.

Rockstar has made some Brilliant games in their time. A stupid person could never produce such high quality games.

I agree. I just question whether "their time" has passed. The last great game they made IMO was San Andreas, which was 8 years ago now.

..and I think a chimp could have optimized GTA4 better. I'll never understand how a game can be released so late, yet still have so many bugs and performance issues.

I thought San Andreas was a hoot from start to finish. GTA IV, not so much. In San Andreas it was fun to play the game, but also fun to "play with" the game. While GTA IV was a huge upgrade in graphics, the missions weren't as fun and after a while I learned to hate that damn phone and all my ultra needy friends. Over the years I played San Andreas all the way through a few times while I got bored with GTA IV about two thirds of the way through and never went back to it. I'm definitely going to take a wait and see attitude towards GTA V.

Well I did not know you are a A++ game developer and knows the ins and outs of coding a game for hundreds of different PC combinations. Goddamn, who are you working for and why are we blessed to have such a genius code writer visit these forums? :D

I definitely see the design change that started in 4. I however don't have much of an issue with it though that phone ringing made me cringe too. I would love to see more fun style open-ended side missions that don't have a time limit on them. But I also like the story telling direction they are going in and I can't wait for this one. I had fun with Sleeping Dogs but this is the real meat and potatoes.

I doubt the game, in real time, will look this good on the consoles. Most likely these videos are done on a PC and have been dressed up a little.

I don't find the graphics impressive or all that different from GTA IV. They make nice shaders for the consoles, those get better. But the poly count and this the level of geometric detail is the same. Imagine how it might look not chained to hardware from ~5 generations of GPU/CPUs ago.

This, combined with the amount of aliasing = shit.

So, all the trailers and screenshots we've been seeing.. were they taken from the console version or the pc version? can anyone tell?

Definitely getting more interested in this game now. If it even comes to PC, it will be a while after the console versions come out, so no reason for me to get too excited about the game right now. Still waiting on Red Dead Redemption on PC. In the end I had to borrow the game from a friend and play it on X360 last year. Would love to play the game again, but this time on PC where I should have been able to play it to begin with.

I watched the trailer last night and I am EXCITED! No PC release? No problem, I have two console platforms to choose from. I'm not even going to begin to get frustrated over the lack of a PC release. This looks like a GTA that I will finally play from start to finish.

Damn impressive graphics and animations. Looks like I'll have to build an LGA2011 hexcore with quad sli/xfire to actually see it that way...

No kidding. I don't understand why people are talking about how amazing the graphics are.

Presumably consoles since they haven't even announced if there's going to be a PC version.

All screenshots and video's are from PCs using console dev kits. They willl clean them up for trailers using more resources then the consoles have.

How in the Holy Hell are current generation consoles DOING THIS?!

I mean, look at this game...the draw distance, the things all going on at once...I just don't get it...GTA4 didn't look half as good as this and ran barely adequately on the consoles.

Fucking black magic I swear...only way I can explain it. I mean the GPU alone doesn't have THIS much horsepower does it? 512MB of total RAM? Like, unless the game is running at a native 640x480 and streaming constantly off the hard drive I just simply can't comprehend this...

everything far away seems to fog out now to single colors, you can't see the textures on buildings at all unlike GTAIV where you could still clearly make out the textures on buildings miles away, doing this has allowed them to make everything closer look so good

Either way will just probably buy it on PS3 first, then buy the PC version for mods and MP.

When Red Dead came out I played it first on the PS3 (rental), but ended up buying it on the 360. I was shocked that the 360 had more objects on the screen. PS3 was just barren compared to the 360. Maybe they just didn't have the PS3 down yet. I have both consoles.

Anyway I'll be getting this for the 360. Rockstar just rocks!

I have all their games.

I hope to get this game shortly after it comes out for the 360 and eventually the PC.

Should I get an Xbox then? 90% possibility that GTA V will not be available for the current-gen consoles, that's why they are holding out the release date to Q3-4 2013 or Spring 2013.
