Can anyone tell me if the desk in this picture is a corner desk RIGHT or LEFT?

This looks like a RIGHT to me, but I am just checking.

The RED side depth is the larger side with 31.5" depth right?

&

the BLUE is the thinner side that is 23.5"?

or do I have these reversed / something wrong.[/QUOTE]

Yup, you got all that right.

Still have tons of work to do, cables, install hardwood floor, paint walls, trim, find pictures. Oh and get a decent camera too.
I'd also like to find a better way to connect the two desks.

get a simpson mending plate, it has holes in it that you can screw both ends together and it will make it strong where you dont need both sets

Could you use the legs themselves as mending plates? That way you can attach the two tops together and have two legs at the seam instead of four.

I think I will just weld the 2 plates that goto the Vika Adilis legs together. I want something I can remove. It won't be too bad to keep both back legs I just wonder if the desk will be stable enough with out them

you can remove them it just has more screw holes to help support everything

Guys, looking for the Black/Brown desk combination for the corner. I have a few questions and have searched but this thread is so large just having a hard time.

1) What legs are better on this desk? T or A style?
2) I need a desk that has good depth and equal depth on both left and right. Is the Galant equal on both ends? I have about 60-70 inches to the left the desk can go for room, and 100 inches to the right. What would be the recommend config for this would you guys recommend? What combination do I need to start with?
3) I also have a full size CoolerMaster HAF-X tower and wanted to know if the computer holder will fit this case under the desk? It's a tall box.

Any other recommendations for this desk? I need to purchase quickly so any help would greatly be appreciated.

Also to add to my post, will these items I found work for what I want, but also fit in my car? I have an Acura TL with no fold down rear seat so I will probably borrow my dads 08 Civic that does have a fold down. The lady told me the box is 50 inches wide, per what I measured this will not even fit through the opening of the trunk itself which seems not right?! The store is 100 miles away so I am trying to figure something out.

Just returned my Galant T legs and picked four A legs. These are way more stable. Recommended. I'll post a picture of my setup asap.

I'm in the process of moving, and I happen to be moving near an Ikea store. I can't take my current desk and so I've been looking at what Ikea has to offer. I've settled on the galant and have got a nice L shape planned out. What I need help with is which legs to go with. People seem to be torn on the A-leg vs the T-leg. I need a really stable leg as I tend to have a lot of stuff on my desk.

Also, I really like the idea of the Summera computer holder, but I have an alienware Aurora R3 and I'm not sure if the Summera can handle the size and weight. Anyone have any experience with it? (and yeah, knock alienware, but it was my only choice at the time)

Go cheap! Get a nice 1 and 1/8th inch thick birch countertop and some legs. Pick up some of the wood oil as well. I need to clean up the area, but when I do I'll take pictures of my desk.

I have been considering the Ikea countertops to use as a desk. My only concern is that they are not very deep. The desk I'm getting rid of is 41" deep and is the main reason why I'm replacing it. But, the countertops are only 25 5/8" deep. Most desks are around 29". On the flip side, the 73" length is what I need. have a 27" iMac, so I moved it forward to the distance it would be from my face if I used the Ikea countertop. It feels way too close. Does Ikea sell custom width countertops?

I think they do, but it would get much more pricey. I used to have a ice Steelcase desk that was...expansive and on the order of 40-something inches deep, but it got left behind when I moved across the country. I have a 27" monitor with the same panel as the 27" iMac and don't find that it's too close. I do have a set of capita legs which are four or five inches high which I have attached to a board to raise the level on which my monitor sits and free up room on the surface of the desk for my keyboard and mouse. I'll try and get a picture soon.

You never mentioned which countertop you were looking at, but the NUMERÄR countertop is 73.25" (length) x 39.375" (width) x 1.5" (thick). Was looking at picking this countertop up myself and creating an L-Desk, but I have to borrow a friend's pickup and he is currently overseas.

Guys, anyone give me a idea what the proper height should be for the galant corner desk? I have the T legs at the height they came, and it's questionable if it's high enough or not. Can anyone measure for me from the bottom of the T leg to the part where it splits and goes up? I would need this quickly (by tomorrow) so I can adjust it and get my computer all setup on it. Thanks!

The height is whatever you want it to be, so long as the set screw in the upper part of the leg gets a firm grip on the lower portion. If you're within the range printed on the lower leg you're fine. The only proper height is what's comfortable for you.

True. Just wasn't sure if anyone had any recommendations on this. I can see it being a little higher. May play with it tonight.

The bigger Fredrik, Vika Amon 59"x30", and Expedit 2x2:

In the next few months I'm going to scan everything in and ditch the filing cabinet, which I'll replace with a set of Gorm shelves, and then I'll rearrange most of the hardware and maybe add a custom shelf underneath the Fredrik (I think I can attach it to the mostly useless wire tray thing).
Also visible is the nice little Vittjso that we recently got for my lady friend--it's been perfect for her since she only uses a laptop (who even does that? :p).

sorry crappy phone pics, but i'm not quite finished. but its good enough for a quick pic :)

the new chair is pretty comfy but it needs a bolt for the back so the back rest can be locked. going to take it to lowes probably tonight. not bad for $5 :)

Nothing fancy, just a Micke. I like it a lot though. Oh, and it's an Orgel Vreten floor lamp. Really liked the looks of it.

I'm considering cutting the vertical posts off past the desktop on my Jerker...Might leave one extra set of holes/adjustment so I could bolt them back together If I wanted to.

I just got a dual monitor mount (and getting another for Christmas - 4 monitors) and I think the arms are going to interfere with the adjustment of the monitors.

I also considered cutting them and moving them further back so I could still have the shelf but it wouldn't overhang on top of the monitors (would be pretty snug to the wall though)

Thoughts before I do something so drastic?

There is a version of the Jerker that doesn't have the upper shelves or the posts for them.

I've seen those, all the Jerker's I can find on CL locally all have the posts though (and I usually find Jerkers just on the description alone, most folks don't list them around here as "Jerker")

I just thought of cutting it neatly with a hacksaw/sawzall using a guide so the cuts would be straight and then making four steel plates with four holes in them...certainly seems like it would do the trick and if needed I could get some square tube to go inside the posts as well (or just this and tap them).

Decided to go through with it, perhaps I'll track the work in a log. Lot of ideas for my workspace I'd like to accomplish over the holidays.

So before I go to ikea store..I just want to know the difference of galant right corner and left corner... i want to have the right side be thicker since i have to be my hand up there..which one should i choose?

awesome setups in this thread. going to Ikea this weekend to pick up a 59" Vika Amon. currently using a tempered glass L desk and i just dont have the room for dual 23" with studio monitors.

anybody have recommendations on a cheap storage rack? just to flank the desk and store my gaming consoles and other electronics.

I am using a Gorm rack for this, but they don't make this type any more :(

Just remember to grab a stabilizer or two (the metal "x" things that you screw to the back) with the Gorm shelves. Made me feel better about putting expensive stuff on it.
