Battlefield 3 (PC Digital Download) $7.50

I thought $10 was low, and then I thought $8 was low. You know what, now I'm thinking $7.50 is low :D

Makes me feel like a sucker for paying $50 for the game + $50 for premium...it hasn't even been a year and the game has dropped to $8, with premium available for under $40. That's absurd...though to be fair, I've logged 420hrs ingame since launch-that breaks down to around $0.24 per hour of playtime, or around $8.30 per month since launch. I spend way more on iRacing :D

They just want everyone to buy the premium pack at inflated prices...

Ive been wondering about this. So what exactly is the in premium pack? It sounds like they are ultimately going the route of giving the game away for free but charging a lot for the content which most people need. Does the premium pack have stuff people actually need or what?

Maps and weapons. Unfortunately the vanilla game isn't very well balanced with the weapons you can get from the packs. In some cases, it might feel "pay to win" when that guy who paid $50 for Premium kills you with an "overpowered" weapon you don't have access to.

IMHO, the BF3 base game should be free like TF2 at this point. They're making all their money from DLC anyway.

Glad to see the promo code works :) I didn't make a new thread because it continues the one-day only sale on BF3 (today only) and I wasn't sure if the code would work.

The premium service content pack (without game) is 37.50 with promo code. However, it looks like the 25% off code can only be used once per amazon account.

5 DLC packs for a total of 20 new maps, 20 weapons, 10 vehicles (3 expansions are currently out). 18 unlocked upgrades. Two-week early access to the upcoming expansions.

Ok thanks for the explanation. So basically, what I took from that is, BF3 is a very unbalanced game because in order to have a chance to compete you have to pay the highest premium to get the op weapons. Awesome.... What a great model for a game... Its a good thing I didnt buy it then because id be pissed if I bought a FPS only to learn I cant compete without spending the highest premium for the real weapons. I really dislike the pay-to-win models.

It's not egregiously unbalanced, but yeah, it's got pay-to-win syndrome going on.

I originally bought russian cd key when the game came out.. than bought bf3 premium over it.. What sucks is i have to always use russian to english fixes for it.. I wonder if I buy this amazon version if that will correct my issue with my already purchased premium. I uninstalled my version on origin last night, and went to reinstall and would only allow me to chose russian .

ok it worked. Bought it to replace the russian version i had, and it shows all my premium content available for it. The russian version was a pain to always look for english fix.

It appears the OCTOFUN1 code is one use per amazon account.

Not really....the original maps are excellent. Premium/DLC's just add a few guns and a bunch of maps. I bought BF3 when it was released, and got premium when the 2nd DLC was released and i still use the original weapons more than the new.

There is no advantage premium gives you other than all the DLC's 2 weeks before public release.

In regards to the game being unbalanced, everyone has their own opinion. I don't like how the game plays compared to how it was when it released; they nerfed vehicles and make them completely vulnerable to infantry.

But other than that, I don't have many gripes about the game. Like every multiplayer game, it really relies upon who's on your side.

Back on the topic, the game is a solid pickup at $7.50.

Single player was alright, but more on rails than other titles in the series. Would have preferred they actually used the open power of their engine. But I guess that'd require more AI coding since scripting the enemy is much easier.

To be honest, they should have skipped SP. Left for MoH and Bad Company. Just given us proper multi and bots. Sometimes its fun just to hop in an A10 and mow down some botties.

Sorry, processing is taking longer than expected.

Please do not reorder this item.

This process is in place to prevent unauthorized orders on your account.

what the hell?

The game code is transferible? It's only for US customer, and I want one. Some could buy it for me I'll sent money over paypal.

What aspect of premium is pay to win exactly? If you are referring to weapons then that is absolutely FALSE. The best weapons in the game come from default BF3, not to mention the fact that premium is not even a requirement to obtain the additional weapons anyways. All you have to do is buy an individual expansion pack EXACTLY like how we did with BF2 and the special forces xpac.

Hell, I have premium and there is only one premium gun I regularly even use. I found all the others subpar in comparison to their vanilla counterpart.

Game basically has a few great maps that are pretty epic and a bunch of trash maps and modes that really are not what the game is best for. Stick to vanilla and maps like oman and caspian for the best bf experience. I have not tried the armored kill expansion yet but close quarters is a cod mod imo. SO yeah, game suffers from a personality disorder but is an epic good deal at $7.50.

how the hell do I launch the game? it just goes to an IE page and tells me I need IE 9, FF or Chrome. well I dont want IE9 and there is no way I see for it to actually use FF or Chrome.

no need to change your default browser if you don't want to. open Orign, open a web browser and go to http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/gate/. log in and play.
Pretty sure that was his question if hes trying to launch BF3 in Chrome from the Origin app.

where do I change that?
In Chrome, click the icon on the top right of the screen. The three horizontal lines that are in a cube shape. Settings, then at the bottom select Chrome as default.

Better yet, http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95417

yeah I could do that but I was just clicking on it from Origin and looking for a way to always go to Chrome.

thanks. I thought it was a setting in Origin that I had to change and did not even think about simply changing it in Chrome.

I just put down $37.50 for the premium pack, already owned BF3.

FYI it looks like the stock version of BF3 is out of stock. How? LOL.. no clue.

The Premium Edition is still available for both people who already own BF3 and thous that don't.

Battlefield 3 Premium Edition $45.00
Battlefield 3: Premium Service $37.50

Glad I was able to pick this up before the deal ended. Like i said I had bought a russian key when the game first came out, and had bought premium over it , but It was annoying always having to look for a russian to english patch whenever a new game update would become available.

new amazon code 'SQRLUVOC'
good until oct 20

This worked on the premium download. $37.50 out the door. also works on many other amazon dl games

ed: pardon the brevity, the coupon code works on a good number of Amazon DL games, no, the BF3 at the normal price is craptacular, but apply it for other games as you wish, including the BF3 premium package, if so inclined.

I didn't see a current thread regarding the amazon codes, so I threw it in where it seemed fitting.
