Anyone else having problems with Borderlands 2?

No major issues regarding performance or graphical bugs.

Video card: Radeon HD 6950

Only annoying gripe I have is the mouse cursor highlighting the wrong item while at a vending machine. Cursor would point at one item but highlights another one somewhere down the list. Having to exit and re-enter the vending machine after a few tries fixes it.

Probably closer to 65% =)

I LAN with 2 others in the house. I just pick my character. I select network type to LAN. Then I click continue. (this will start up a session as me as the host)

The others click network type and make it LAN. Then click find games and it will display my game, then they join it. Once they join they can select their characters.

Not the most intuitive, but it seems to work just fine.

Thanks, that was it. I knew it would be something simple I was overlooking, I never noticed the "find games" button. DOH!

I have verfied game cache on steam and apparently I was missing a file. After downloading the above file and updating my phyx driver, things seem to be running a lot better. Nice.

I see that but never thought it was a card issue. I just go slower and double check I'm highlighting the right one.

+1 for PhysX, I set it to low and no more slow downs. I'm on an i7 CPU and AMD GPU (specs below). It would crawl like a little bitch being beaten to the ground with PhysX on high. I set it to low and I'm doing just fine now. :)

This. I think me and the GF spent at least 10 hours this weekend playing. Will play more when I get home tonight, lol.

Same! My wife even has an extra hour up on me. :(

For you, of course. Since PhysX is running on the CPU, of course it's going to slow things down. OP has a 680, capable of running the PhysX on the vid card, and should not be seeing significant PhysX slowdowns.

680 gtx factory OC'ed
All gfx maxed
physx on high
1920x1200
Lastest WHQL drives
2 additional 1080p monitors

No slowdown

Really love this game.

Using the rig in my sig.

Everything maxed, including PhysX.
1680x1050 Resolution
Latest PhysX and Drivers

No slowdowns.

I get occasional slowdown. 1920x1080, max settings, PhysX high.

I'm guessing there's some driver or patch optimization to do, because the slowdown seems completely random and not related to what's going on on-screen.

been running like a dream at 1680 res here since day one on 560ti, with physics offloaded to an old gtx260, everything max and stays pinned to 60 fps cap no matter where I go. got to be driver problems, unless 6 series cards really don't have the headroom for both the game and phsyx? if you are running 1920+ I wouldn't expect things to be perfectly smooth on a single card.

Damn my rig has occasional hiccups during intense scenes, makes me wonder whether the CPU is bottlenecking the 680 especially since I have overclocked it like nuts!. But can an 2500k @ stock bottleneck a 680? is the card not able to handle high Physx during battles?. Do I have to think about buying a separate card to handle Physx?. Maybe I should wait for a performance driver or a patch to be released and then decide.

i5 bottleneck on a multiplatform release, you must be joking. it's not your cpu, I got the same one with half as much ram and it's pinned to cap the whole time. must be physx or driver problem, update to the latest 09.12.0613 release.

I have the latest Physx drivers with 306.23 WHQL installed but still the frames drop during intense gameplay. I am pretty sure its the Physx that`s causing the problem with some 600 series cards. Awaiting a good driver update or a patch that clears the issues.

anyone had problem with steam cloud?

i lost a LOT of progress

I have had this problem. I mostly play BL2 on my laptop, but when I went and played on my gaming rig and then tried to go back to my laptop, all the progress I had made on my gaming laptop had disappeared.

no slow down problem here, but I get the freezing/crashing to desktop problem. It's annoying especially when you found a good gun and the game crashes and game wont be save.. :(.

This was a few days back:

I've played a bit more, just on the edge of lvl 29. :)

We started to catch up on all the side missions and just did the Minecraft Easter egg yesterday. I ended up with a MC skin and my wife got the MC box head for her Siren. :)

When the pop up that provides an option to use local saves or steam cloud saves. Use the LOCAL saves. Good chance that your local save is more up to date then the one on steam. This happened to me and I picked the local option and no progress was lost. My friend picked the steam option and lost around 3 hours of play.

They include the date stamp so you can choose the proper one?

i.e. if you play your game and close it and the sync fails. You might just close steam or whatever, then load it back up never taking notice. Choose the local obviously as the sync failed. I've had the sync fail before, but I usually pay attention to the date stamps. i.e. when did I last play the game.

Example:

I don't get an option to use local or cloud saves; it only gives me the option to Play or Cancel when it tells me the cloud save may not be up to date.

Honestly Origins does it much better, as it gives you the date stamps on the cloud save and the local save and asks you which one you want to use.

The one time I had to use it it only said "Today" for the time stamp. I just went with the local save. I would assume that my PC saves more often then the cloud. :p

The issue I was getting at is when you're working between systems.

But yes if you only use one PC, always stick to the local data.

i had a glitch last night when tipping moxxi. she said the dialogue about deserving something special for being such a good tipper, and i didn't get anything. still got the achievement for tipping $10k, which is what i was going for anyways.

I also get fps drops when out exploring yet my GPU utilization rarely goes past 70% (HD 6950 2GB)

same thing happend to me yesterday also. No item but got the achienvement

also found a bug/glitch in the hodunk racetrack which you can get the achievment even if you can't actually enter the place and do the race.

Same thing, waited a few more seconds and did one more 1k tip and got the gun. :)

EDIT: I even managed to get in some useless twitchtv streaming. :)

I don't know why it split them into separate videos though, it was on constant...

If anyone is having problems with fps drops and low GPU usage, try this:

Go to 'Video Options' > 'Window Mode' and change it from 'Fullscreen' to 'Fullscreen Windowed'

It worked for me :) Smooth gameplay and ~90% GPU utilization (where before it had 30 fps at random and 60% GPU utilization).

Did you check to make sure you had the cloud saves enabled on the desktop?
