Display Port Cable - Shorting out the card/mobo?

I just found that my DisplayPort cable has been shorting out my video card and board. Anyone else have something like this happen?
 
Check for continuity on the pin 20

If it is connected, thats the cause, I had to get rid of them on two of my cables, you can use a pair of tiny plyers or tweezers to pul the pin.

Personally I've done everything I can to stop using DP. The cables tend to be really flimsy, have a hard time holding in and I've had 2 of them rip them self apart completely.
