For those who have one, how's the stand?

How are the colors and PQ on this monitor compared to the Samsung S27A950D?
Also, is the screens surface closer to the glossyness of the Samsung or closer to a Dell IPS(U2412M fx)?
It is matte and the general concensus is that colours aren't as nice.
Yapchagi, what is an HD video of the monitor going to show other than the performance of the monitor you are viewing on?
That is a bummer, to my understanding the 27" Samsung like the S27A950D have less colors and PQ compared to 23" Samsung like my S23A700D.
Not sure where you read that but it's a load of rubbish. The pixel pitch if different but the colours are similar if not richer on the 27" (and 23") 750 and 950 models as they have a slightly better gamut apparently.
Well I could be wrong but read somewhere that the 23" Samsung are slightly better compared to 27" Samsung, this for these 120hz TN.
Also to my understanding all the 23" 120hz TN Samsung use same panels so there should be no difference in gamut, colors and PQ.
Well got the monitor in today and have had the chance to play around with it for several hours now.
Man it's buttery smooth. Tribes Ascend and BF3 just flow so good now. I can definitely see and feel the difference between this and my u2711. I will say I already miss gaming in 1440p, but I'm still using the u2711 as my secondary monitor so it's not a big deal.
I think It's time to go crossfire now though. GW2 can't really utilize the high refresh rates when in large combat scenarios.
I thought Tribes Ascend used the Unreal engine and was locked at around 60fps.
I just got mine today...
Anyone have any tips for calibration?
Anyone know if I get this monitor if I can do 3D Surround with a VG278H since it has a transmitter build in and the VG278HE is about $50 cheaper on Amazon right now. I just got the VG278H and have been trying to figure out if I wanna do 3D Surround or just 3D with some other 27" monitors.
So I was playing tribes yesterday (runs at a constant 122fps for me) and in a moment of frustration my Asus monitor cable came unplugged. When this happened it switched over to my Dell. Now in the past I thought my Dell u2711 did well gaming but now... It was night and day. It felt robotic at 60fps. Trying to snipe with all the stuttering was nigh impossible.
tl:dr: If you play fps games get a 120+hz monitor.
So, if I wanted the best LCD monitor purely for gaming available atm, Samsung S27A950D or Asus VG278HE?
okay just got my VG278HE
everything is super smooth...digging it so far....but one thing that I have noticed is the very bottom, there is some back light bleeding....its actually the worse I've seen from any monitor, and spans from corner to corner.....all the other monitors I've seen usually just chill in one corner and thats it....I'm debating if I should keep this or return it? Anybody else have a long stretch of backlight bleed on the bottom of their VG278HE?

Every 278HE I have seen has this, including my own. Doesn't really affect me though as I almost never have solid black screens up on my monitor for whatever reason. 99.9% of images BLB is irrelevant.
FYI this monitor can run at 150 Hz using custom timings.
If it wasn't smooth enough....
