I'll be moving next week and getting a new desk and this half-disassembled one will be trashed. (It's an L desk but the right half started to sag in the middle and I got rid of it to make more room for moving boxes)

Have a link to the wallpaper?
Thanks

I have this monitor, the language can be set to English and everything in the menus is displayed in English. The outside buttons on the monitor have the writting in Korean. Not an issue for me as I already have debezzeled the monitor as it looks mad SEXY without the cheap plastic LG silver border :)

I also removed the AG filter on it, as its glass underneath it and looks alot clearer. Some pics:

nice monitors , which asus models are these ?

Any coders here? What's a setup you've found to be the best when it comes to software development?

I do development on Eclipse(Java) and Visual Studio (C#) and I'm thinking of getting a 30" Dell LCD. Is that good enough or is it an overkill?

I use a 23" at work and 24" at home. I imagine 30" must be really good - 1600 lines of vertical space to see code and lots of horizontal space for your solution graphs, property panes, etc. If it's not enough you can always add a second monitor

30" is probably not enough depending on what kind of platform you are coding on. I use a lot of virtual machines running simultaneously so multiple monitors are a must for me, even though I have a 30" primary monitor. PLP is particularly good because you can use wing monitors to show code and leave the 30" as a canvas (web programming, virtual machines, etc.). Now if you are coding for smartphones you might not need a lot of real estate for the simulators...

I mostly do web development as well as Windows development. I currently have 3 x 24" monitors and I'm thinking of selling them and use the money towards a 30" Dell (and eventually get 2 x 20" to setup a PLP). Based on what I've seen here, the 20x30x20 PLP setup is the most appealing to me.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Looks awesome, so High-tech!

Slowdayfriday. Got some spare PCs in at work that came with 24" monitors, decided to throw a third in portrait to see if I liked it ... and I do :)

May not keep it though, people will start to think that I spend a lot of work money on my work PC, but in reality the only thing special I have bought is my keyboard and mouse. Even the PC was a leftover spare from last years inventory :p

You might want to page through the ikea desk thread if you haven't, but Ikea also has a lot of cheap table tops and legs (the Vika Amon series). If you go for a longer one or are planning to put a lot of weight on it, you can get some extra legs and put them on/around the middle.

Finally all setup. Sorry for phone quality camera. The wife has the camera hidden somewhere.

5 x Dell 2209wa's - My friend snagged my back up mouse.
