Enermax Platimax 1350W Power Supply Review - Enermax is a long standing quality desktop PSU company. It not only specifies and designs power supplies it is one of the few companies that actually build enthusiast PSUs. Enermax today moves it 1350 watt giant into "Platinum" efficiency territory with the new Platimax 1350W.

PSU's seem to get bigger and bigger in terms of capacity, but GPU's and CPU's are steadily drawing less and less power...

Doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but I suppose if anybody needs 1350w PSU's it is the readership of [H].

PSU reviews must be..interesting to do..thnx, I was wondering what amps is required to run this in the US - we have 240v from the wall @!~ 10-12amps, not 100% without looking it up on the interweb...I remeber an Enermax unit sold here a few years ago that needed 15A..don't see anything about it these days..:confused::confused:

Crazy how powerful things are getting.

Perfect for TriFire, 15 fans, watercooling, and 8 HDD's on top :)

even with cheap power here in TX -- damn computer would cost 2 to 3 dollars a day just to run the PC.

Ya, cpu's and gpu's are more efficient every release. What build needs one of these?

I guess people who are into these big folding farms with multiple CPUs and GPUs. But yeah, it's still a small niche market, just like quad SLI gamers.
