Not sure, I just preordered on GMG but it said they don't send the Steam key until release day. Might be a special code specifically for preorder copies though.

It's got all the same pre-order incentives that anyone does. Really the only part you will potentially miss out on is a pre-load. GMG is a big ambiguous as to when your key will actually be delivered.

Yeah I looked at my GMG emails and one says that I will get my key on release date and the other says I will recieve my key "close" to release date. Oh well as long as I get the key before I go to work on the 18th so I can get it downloading all is good.

I heard so much about this game but I never played BL1. I preordered it anyway for $36 from GMG.
 
I'm going gunzerker for my first play through. Moar dps! Although I think zero will have the most burst damage of any character.
 
So excited for this game lol. Just $17 left owing on my ultimate loot edition. Go go eb games and the ability to through a bit of cash at my preorder when i have it.

Still not sure what class im rolling but it Will involve rocket launchers i know that much lol

Go get it, now! Borderlands was a shitload of fun. I put over 100 hours into it, and ill likely play it again.

You guys think a guerrilla Turet build will work or probably be gimped? I never played the original but i assume you could have such a build then.
 
I'm planning on going Commando...Gunzerker sounds fun too but I'm liking the look of that turret.

TBH I actually want to play all of the characters, lol. In BL1 I never really had any desire to play the melee guy, but I put a fair bit of time into the other three.
 
did they tweak the skill tree from the 1st game? looks fairly similar just at a glance
 
For some reason i can't see the talents at work.... so let me ask: did they fix the turret? The one in BL1 was a piece of shit.

Needs to turn 360 degrees.

LOL same here. Call me shallow but I wish they would have gone in a different art direction that a stumpy dwarf. As the defacto replacement for Brick he looks silly but who knows maybe hes a blast to play with.

My first playthrough will be with Axton the Commando then Zero and Maya with Salvador last. I might be sick of the game then so it may not matter.

I don't recall seeing it on any videos as being 360 degrees but the range is impressive. I saw it take out targets at all forward facing angles and if you equip missiles on it then it just makes it hilarious. I might be wrong but I agree with you on BL1. The turret was useless in end game. I think they have improved it for BL2.

I found the shield to be a decent distraction once you powered it up all of the way. It was nothing special in most situations, but in later areas I'd toss one out, run like hell, and use the enemies' tracking AI to march them right into a bunch of turret fire that would block their shots and still let me snipe them.

It wasn't as good as some of the other powers (especially early) but I got used to it.

no problem :)

this game shows A LOT of promise. i had a few gripes with the first one, all of them seem to be resolved. . especially story driven content. i can't wait.

and i bough it for like 35$. thats always good too :)

Judging from the videos the turret seems to be much more "beefy" than in BL1. This video (skip to 1:15) does not show the missiles but it does pack a punch.

Go to 3:06 on this video for the missiles which really look and feel powerful.
