Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

Wow, that's good news for CC builds! Any ETA for 1.0.5? Also, finally got my first legendary to drop - Echoing Fury, but only rolled 885 DPS out of 1300 possible. :( Almost maxed out the fear %age though...

Just sold one like that about a week or 2 ago. I think I got somewhere around 3M for it, not great but not terrible.

People might be looking at CC stuff a little differently now that its getting reworked so maybe that will help the price on your mace.

This is exactly my problem. Although lately I haven't seen as many.

So I did go to A3 yesterday and started farming with a couple pieces of MF gear, which puts my dps ~59k (~64k without the MF gear). I died alot. lol. Probably 3-4 repair runs in about 2 hours of playing. Which is bad, but I need to just keep it up or at least get my VIT up (only at ~21k HP). The loot that was dropping was pretty nice and I can live with the deaths until I can find some decent upgrades.

If you feel just a tad under geared for act 3, two is still a viable farming act.

Take the kill zoultan checkpoint and head back to the vault of the assassin, then clear both sides of unlocking zoultans chamber, then kill zoultan through belilal. It's a good amount of packs for the time to clear if you can't clear 3 easily yet. I dont know the exp rate in there because I didn't stay there very long while upgrading, but it's still a great gear farming spot.

New rings put me at 69k again, my act 3 runs (battlements, stone fort and 3keep levels) fluctuates between 11 and 15 mil exp an hr now.

I hope they have difficulty scaling implemented in this next patch!

But damn with them taking their time, we likely won't see PvP until next summer lol

Using Alkaizers method (now that he released it), people are seeing around 60 Mil xp per hour!! I tried it and it def was a boost for me just not 60M, prob b/c of my gears. With some upgrades I can def see it as possible.

Yea I have a pretty good VotA run that I do that I just basically go get 5 stacks, clear VotA, rinse, repeat. I should probably start slowly adding some MF gear back in and see how well I can clear it.

Question: Would it be better to farm A3 with ~59k dps/~21k Life with 104%MF base (no NV) or farm A2 with ~41k dps / 34k Life with 210%MF base (no NV)?

I'd be happy with 30mil. Last time I tried towers, phasing beasts caused a lot of trouble. If I can snag a new upgrade weapon, I think I can brute force my way through very quickly. I'll do exp runs in act 3 zones this weekend to see which spots work best for me and retry the towers and beyond.

I think it's a push and jus go with whatever you feel comfortable with. I'd say switch back and forth for now. Variety is the spice of life!

How are people tracking their xp per hour.

EDIT: Im going to guess, adding up xp gained and figuring it out based on time spent. Gotcha.

1. Note start time of session.
2. Note xp bar at start of session.
3. Note end time of session.
4. Note xp bar at end of session.
5. MATH AND STUFF
6. Profit

And here you were just a few days ago saying he was sharing accounts. See, that's why I said before you shouldn't just make up stuff since it's possible it could be done legitly.

Noo!!! why bring up this again lol, it was tough enough getting through those pages, please god don't let it start all over again!

Hrm, fist try got me 15mil/hr. Hulking phase beasts still seems to cause the most pain for me. Exp is good though considering how many times I died. I just need to up my deeps to burn though those guys.

I did find 3 legendaries in an hour, 59 club (useless), 60 crossbow (useless), and dead mans legacy bad rolls. Hopefully the dead mans legacy can at least fund my weapon upgrade

You'll probably need at least 80k dps to brute force phase beasts down. I'm sitting at 84.7k dps atm and I usually default to my normal mode to Diamond Skin tank them down. There's about a 50/50 chance of survival that way, but phase beasts with frozen are practically guaranteed killers when I have no place to move. Whenever I die, I just say fuck it, pop Archon to wipe them clean (of course they're considerably damaged by then). I also have about 517k EHP vs 63, ~748k as archon, so brute forcing may bode a little better on my end.

I found like 2 legendaries since using Alkaizer's route (I leveled from 24-27 with this route so far) and they were pretty garbage, but I'm still optimistic about getting a goody sometime soon.

The change to CC IS A NERFto the Legendary mace Echoing Fury if you don't want mobs running all over the damn place causing you to slow way down to go chasing after them with this proposed change. If you can't see that being a huge problem, then I feel sorry for you =P Doesn't affect me because I don't have one, but if I did have that mace I would be rather burned if I had gone all out on purchasing a good one!

Bah, I've increased my exp gain, but only to about 17mil/hour. I took out stonefort and level 1, it seems like Level 2 and skycrown are the best exp/hr for me once I'm at 5 stacks.

I'll take a significant buff to a wide variety of skills at the cost of inconveniencing owners of one particular legendary item any day of the week. The way they've reduced the effectiveness of both snares and CCs in Hell/Inferno basically destroyed the viability of a lot of skills.

I was having fun using Arcane Mines as my damage dealer and it was a pretty fun build. In Inferno nothing even gets slowed down, yet the damage and arming time of the mines is balanced around having a slowing effect...it throws the balance completely off. It's the same with Entangling Shot and various other skills: why bother with them when other skills do more damage and some don't even require aiming.

I was just reading a reddit thread about "long-term D3" and this thought crossed my mind.

In D2, as players increased, monster density dramatically increased. I realize the focus in D2 was more on whites than say elites...but still. You could argue that with increased density it would finally give some credence to party play. Even now, with all the tweaks they've made, solo remains the best way of farming and for paragorn leveling.

Why not have 4-player games have insane monster density? Efficiency would greatly increase, and if you can't handle the difficulty, well too bad haha. But it would give incentive for those who are properly geared to seriously consider it.

@Yoshiyuki Blade - I rarely bid on items. The few that I have bid and won, I've gotten at 20% of true market value hehe, but that's probably me just getting lucky with those finds.
(I almost abbreviated your name to Yoshi, but rofl)

Just got a radiant star emerald, which pushed my dps from 85k to 91k. I think it's a good time to start focusing on movement speed as I'm really starting to feel the sluggishness of normal speed (the crappy lacuni prowlers I found a while ago was given to my brother). I've noticed that the last 4 or so legendaries have dropped off random white mobs, which makes me nervous since they're the easiest to overlook. Still haven't found a real valuable one as of late, but I'm still optimistic! I did find a Stormshield with 250 str, 115 dex, 75 AR, 30% block and 6% damage reduction to melee/elites, but I slapped that onto my Templar lol.

Found a really good Axe this morning
889.8DPS
1.3 Attack speed
+424 LoH
+65% Crit damgae
2.9% Lifesteal
Socket

Something close I found on the AH was (it was going for 12m with 50m buyout)
856 DPS
148Vit
366 LoH
64% Crit
2.8 Life Steal

It's a decent dps upgrade for me (5k), but I'd rather trade off that LoH for more dps in some fashion (damage, crit damage, int). How much do you think i can sell it for?

that is a amazing axe. does the 50m one you found have a socket? if so then it is on par with yours.

worth... Id place it at around 30-50m at least but in this current market it will be very hard to sell for that high. Not many things are selling so I'd start it at like a 25m bid and see where it goes.

ARRRGGGGGHHHHHH

My issue with this game, 267 mf (w/nv)......haven't found a legendary in 60 hours (190 hours total), never found a green. Over 5k elites killed total, 1 legendary in inferno total. when i play with my brother (230 MF w/nv), he gets about 1 per night. he has had over 45 legendaries + 5 greens drop for him.

da fuck.

there is NO random drops in D3.
The have changed drop rates on day of the week or amount of the item X chrs just like they did in D2.
Basically in D2 if you need X helmet or Y chest armor that is what you got.
In this F'd up pos game you can get 30 of the item and 0 are worth throwing away.

I'm addicted to Unids...

I stock piled 100+ 63 Unid's this weekend. Got a sick set of MF swap gear that puts me at 365mf with 51k hp and 730-850AR.

I was a bit nervous at first swapping in HC, but it's just raining Archon Armors and Rune Swords now =D

RNG has been especially terrible to me lately.

Picked up a thousand or so rares and none were worth more than 1M. Found 2 6prop armor recipes, but the price for them has utterly crashed, worth no more than 900k for the most expensive one. Had lots of crap legendaries that were salvaged before 1.0.4 landed, but not a single one since.

Anyone has any better suggestions for an optimized XP + item farming route for A3? Normally playing in a party, doing Keep Depths -> Siegebreaker -> Cydaed/Azmo. Any other suggestions for a speedier route with a CM wiz? Alkaizer's route seems only suited for barbs.

I run Alkaizer's route as a CM Wiz, but my build is a little different from what I'm used to seeing. Anything you have trouble with? I found it to be pretty efficient. The first 2 areas are small so you can get 4-5 stacks quickly (I actually leave the game if I get less than 4 stacks by the time I finish) and the rest have good mob density for high exp gains.

My build if you're curious: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Yoshiyuki-1523/hero/893967

Ah yeah I usually hope I'm in Archon mode to deal with the exploders. Your survivability looks good enough to deal with incoming damage. How quickly do you regen AP? I use LL specifically to regen AP very quickly while expending it with Energy Twister. Your AP and AP on crit is more than sufficient. Diamond Skin should reset like a mofo even against small packs, so there's little need for Evocation.

Not as much as I'd like if up against a small pack of just 3, probably due to lacking a bit in IAS.

Does Living Lightning proc CM that much anyway? I thought it was nerfed to oblivion a long time ago.

It doesn't proc CM very much by itself, but the sheer crits per second regenerates AP so quickly that you can spam energy twisters extremely well. I don't know how often you can throw out twisters with your current build, but LL is worth considering if you're often AP starved. Storm Chaser also lets you throw out extra twisters from LL. I don't know the proc coefficient is for those twisters, but it's definitely a nice addition while you blanket an entire room.

Are you just being a god damn troll now? As if you're somehow vindicated. Point is still the SAME. You didn't and couldn't possibly know either, hence why you NEVER proved it!. As someone already said, you just had to bring this up. You were speculating just like everyone else.

First., who really cares? Second, the burden of proof is on the accuser. Third, the SC economy is totally screwed.

If anyone wants to switch to HC, I have a ton of 1-50 leveling gear I need to clear out to make room for unid mules.

I def don't, but Porno noob is just gotta push the button like I somehow initially insulted his new best friend. And funny you bring up burden of proof on the internet. Kind of seems like an oxy moron thing to me. And that was kind of my point intially too, no one can prove anything so pretty much anything can be said. Not myself or anyone else. Big suprise.

My route for act 3
Keep Level 3
Keep Level 2
Skycrown Battlement
The Bridge of Korsikk (Actually fields of slaughter)
Rakkis Crossing to siegebreaker (kill for loot, or restart here for faster exp)

I'm really going for XP, but with my recent upgrades I've been boosting my kill speed to ~18mil an hour with that run. I'm glass cannon type, and using electrocude the few times I'm not in archon mode. 24% run speed (boots and bracers) makes a big difference to speed up farming.
