[H]ardOCP & ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti DirectCU II Giveaway

I currently run an MSI ATI videocard and MSI motherboard. The Video card is loud and my gaming usually occurs at night. The problem is my PC is in the bedroom. When my wife is sleeping it is too loud for me to game. Having this DirectCU II card would cool better and more silently allowing me to game more!!!!

Additionally, it would convert me to an ASUS fan rather than an MSI fan.

Direct X

Adaptive V-Sync

PhysX

PCIe 3.0

Better Cooler, Power Efficiency

Donating my 470gtx to a MarineCorps Veteran friend of mine. Would give him the 660ti card along with motherboard as a T[H]anks for [H]is Service!

Ive been using nothing but ATi/AMD since the 9600 agp days (which i still have and is still operational lol). Usually i keep a card for a while and then end up passing it on to a relative to help boost their performance to more acceptable levels. My old stock of hand me down cards has finally run dry (just used my last 2, a hd3450 and a hd2600xt, for people last month. I have been very impressed by nvidia's offerings as of late and have been wanting to give them a try and see what kind of performance they bring to the table, but more importantly so i can take my current card, a 6850, and set it aside for emergency backup use in case.

Compared to my current card (Radeon HD 5770)
  • Better power efficiency
  • More RAM
  • PhysX support (I own one game that uses it to go effect)
  • PCIe 3.0 for my next CPU/Mobo Upgrade
  • I can run my games at better quality settings & at a higher resolution
  • I can get a new monitor to replace my flaky one (see above).

I would use this in my work PC, and as a high school math teacher, it would certainly assist in 3D graphs and demonstrations for the class, and it doesn't break the bank like a workstation card does.

I like the fact that this thing supports 4 displays and you can run windows 8 ui on one screen and your game on another bad ass! would be cool to get one before my son is born in November.

The cooler temperatures are great for long gaming sessions. And good looks and bragging rights are always a plus too ; )

I've been a long time PC gamer who's enjoyed everything from MMOs to RPGs, RTSs to First Person Shooters. Due to finances, I've been unable to upgrade from my 8800 GT which I purchased in 2007. The 8800 GT was a great video card when I bought it, and it served me well for years, but now it is showing its age. I've been unable to play the latest and greatest games such as Battlefield 3, Arkham Asylum, and Witcher 2. I've struggled to play Call of Duty Black Ops, Rage, and Skyrim at acceptable resolutions. I've had to turn down textures to medium and turn off all AA options to play. It was not a pretty sight.:(

I can only dream of the difference that an Asus GTX 660 Ti Direct CU II TOP video card would make over my pokey 8800 GT. Can you imagine going from a 65 nm process chip with 754 million transistors to a 28 nm chip with 3540 million transistors? It would be a jump from a 600 MHz Core to a 1059 MHz Core! How about going from 512 MB of 900 MHz GDDR3 RAM to 2 GB of 1502 MHz Hynix GDDR5 RAM with memory bandwidth going from 57600 MB/sec to 144000 MB/sec? A 150% increase! The texel rate would shoot up from 33600 MT/sec to 102480 MT/sec, a 205% increase. The pixel rate would go from 9600 MP/sec to 21960 MP/sec, a 129% increase. Holy Moly! I could be playing the lastest DX11 games like Witcher 2 at a buttery smooth 58fps at a resolution of 1920x1080p, Battlefield 3 at a smooth 60fps, and Arkham City at a crazy 70fps with PhysX enabled! I'm also hoping that the Adaptive vSync will work to smooth out the stutters and tearing that I experienced playing RAGE.:(

That wouldn't be the end of the gaming goodness, of course. Even thought the Asus GTX 660 Ti Direct CU-II TOP delivers an additional 7-10% FPS bump beyond the stock GTX 660 Ti, I plan to take advantage of the DirectCU dual fan cooler with 3 sweet nickel plated heatpipes, chamfered shroud, 6 phase digital VRM and Super Alloy Power components as well as 7 more POSCAPs than the reference card to overclock the core to 1200MHz using GPU Tweak to beat a Radeon 7970!!! Best of all, it will still be extremely quiet even at load, only 25 dba!! How awesome is that? And with those dust sealed fans and 12 layer PCB to disperse heat evenly, the Asus GTX 660 ti will keep cool even when overclocked.

My newly invigorated computer will become the center of my media universe with Blu-ray playback piped to my Plasma TV in full HD audio with HDMI 1.4. With 3 more display outputs, I envision a 3 monitor setup for my PC for fully immersive gaming, although that will have to wait for the budget to catch up. Well I can feel it already. I yearn for the Asus GTX 660 ti. From all the dozen+ reviews I've read it sounds like the second coming of the 8800 GT, which was value leader of its generation by offering a price/performance ratio beyond expectations. I await the awesomeness. :D
Thank you

SK

6008 MHz (1502 MHz GDDR5) wth the
CUDA cores 1344

this would rock me mean machine!!

DCII to remove heat, great design, OC potential, PCI-E 3.0. All the goodies wrapped into one package. Always have been a fan of the DC cooling cards as stock coolers leave a lot to be desired.

the cooling and quiet of the directCU! My SLI Nvidia 285s literally turn my room into a sauna currently. My room stays way hotter than the rest of the house and never seems to cool down. This would be a blessing, especially in the Texas heat !

I will blame you for my loss of hearing if I don't get an ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti DirectCU II.
My current video card is a Sapphire Radeon HD4870x2 and is probably the loudest video card ever made.
