It looks like Amazon has struck a deal with Epix that will double the number of titles available on Amazon Prime.

The deal, announced on Tuesday, will mean that Prime Instant Video subscribers can have access to movies from Epix studio partners - Viacom Inc's Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. The agreement doubles the number of titles available to over 25,000 movies.

Definitely liking this. Signed up for prime a month or so ago, this past weekend was the first time I checked out the streaming library. Not a whole lot there right now that I'm interested in...hopefully this changes that.

Keep going amazon. Epix library is pretty weak, so this isn't a real game changer. I tried out prime for a month (and epix) and there was nothing on there worth watching, and this isnt going to do much to change that. I do love Amazon though, so I hope this is a sign they're going to keep expanding their service.

Realistically Prime is all about the free 2 day shipping, so anything they do with the free streaming is just icing on the cake. EPIX isn't amazing, but they do have some big titles like Iron Man, Transformers, and The Expendables and keeps you from having to consider paying the $10 a month for it from your cable company.

Also, it looks like they added more big TV series from NBC to include Parks and Recreation, Parenthood, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and Friday Night Lights.

Now that they FINALLY have an iPad App, I've been watching all 7 seasons of 24. I got bits and pieces through the years, so it is great to be able to watch them all.

Since I have Amazon prime for the 2-day shipping, all this other stuff is just "extra" in my book.

Great news. But please god do something about the prime user interface, it is horrible. I mean on the pc, the prime movie apps are fantastic.

The movies and TV programs from amazon streaming are just a bonus to my 2-day shipping. Ive more than saved double what I would have payed for shipping already in the last 3 or so months. Prime is worth every penny.

Also, even though the selection isnt that great right now, Epix will be adding more to Amazon Prime throughout the year. This is good.

Getting in bed with Viacom is asking for trouble, but best of luck to Amazon.
