The Official Guild Wars 2 thread

I have to say, I've died like 7 times now trying to fucking get through Kessex hills.

Whoever designed the level layout of this didn't think too well.

Caledon forest (Sylvari starting zone) gets you to about lv 15+ or so before you finish it up an dgo to move on. Naturally you go north where the road leads to Kessex hills, which is labeled "15-25" and you assume that's where you go with the flow of things.

However the entrance is literally right into lv 22-23 shit and everyone is saying you need to go to the complete opposite side of the map then that entrance.

Maybe there's some other way to get there but I'm just bumping my head against a wall dying over and over trying to get to the north area, keep running into shit that knocks you down (don't even try going into the water, those things knocked you down and lock you int complete knockdown over and over and over).

Just wonder what the hell they expected people leaving Caledon to do and didn't put the lv 15'ish stuff......where lv 15 players come into it from.

Is entering Brisban Wildlands easier?

I have seen several comments in this thread that people finishing the newbie areas were underleveled for the next area, and they solved it by completing one other newbie area. For example, go to Rata Sum by going through Lion's Arch and do the Metrica Province newbie area.

First time I've been in this thread since launch, been playing quite a bit since Saturday!

Lvl 48 warrior and loved every minute of it. Crafting is awesome, gears up my warrior quite nicely, though not a necessity since drops have been great as well.

Excited to hit WvW once they match a decent server against ours (Stormbluff Isle).

That's the thing though, I'm not underlevel'd, it's just the entrance from the lv 15 zone that leads to it puts you at the higher lv part of the zone instead of the lower lv,

I think Brisban is the Sylvari 15-25 zone. From the Human side, you naturally enter Kessex Hills from Queensdale at the appropriate place. But the zones are connected so people that go wandering around might not realize where they are in relation to the natural progression of things.

its just the design of the levels because the next zones are shared.. sylvari just get jipped. honestly briban is hard as shit, i brought a friend over to Kessex and the first quests are at the higher range which sucks. just walk north east and you'll find the 15-18 ish and that should help. also the end of the human starting area is good too because its a 1-17

also.. make sure youre crafting.. you have 2 professions available to you at a time and those two will give you A LOT of experience. also the main quest line is an enormous amount of experience as well. I do those first now until I cant progress any further without leveling as it moves me along the quickest.

oh and one more thing hahah

daily achievements give a good chunk of exp. make sure you look at those its a tab in the character sheet hotkey is H

I have been enjoying the game immensely, the Thief is my favorite so far.

However, the typical MMO account BS popped up last night when someone tried to reset my account password. Has anyone else seen this?

It could possibly be a naming violation. I have read that Arenanet are pretty strict on offensive names.

I emailed support and their response was canned and did not provide any evidence or proof that i violated anything, I am waiting a second response now.

I did go through and change my passwords though

Sooooo,

Apparently I was handed an account block sometime between Sunday and today,

Considering I have not even used Chat in game no been in a single party i have no clue what the ban is for. So now i can't play which is just stupid.

Yeah there is a really long thread over on reddit (funny read) in which Anet is/was pretty active in. You can just state your name and they'll let you know why your account was locked/banned.

From what I read it looks like 3 main reasons. Name infraction, chat was unacceptable/reported, or gold sellers hacking peoples account.

Not to push anybody off of [H] or anything, but a lot of stuff I've seen come up here have already been discussed in great detail on Reddit and Anet seems to be very active on their own subforum, whod a thunk it?!?

Loved GW1, still remember the first day I played it and going into some old church/crypt dungeon. I would love to play this one but I just don't want to get sucked into another time sink. Since I'm 30 now, I feel guilty any time I pick up an MMO to play like I'm wasting my life or something. Props to those who can control the addiction....

Rdzona, A.Net has this history of giving back to the community since GW1 was released. The Beta was very similar to GW1. For 7 years, A.Net has a history of reaching out to the community.

Almost 30....loving my Guardian. Went full Turtletank spec, sword/board with Toughness/Vitality as my traits. I like fighting bosses and seeing a wave of dead players from an AoE and I'm still going strong :)

So I've been looking for a new MMO. I played EQ forever, WoW for about 5 years, and a little bit of Rift and SWG. I haven't played any MMOs in awhile now and I have that itch coming back.

I don't really have any RL friends playing GW2, is there a HardOCP guild in the game or something? I hate playing these games alone, and I'm on the fence about this one.

A lot of us are on Borlis Pass, in Smoke n' Fire guild. Whisper TheToe to see if you can get an invite. I agree, I don't enjoy playing the game alone very much, or any online game for that matter.

Don't even get me started on combat in the water for an Elementalist. I haven't really gotten much gear outside of gloves, a few staff upgrades, and a chest piece, but I'm struggling a lot in water combat, possibly because I haven't gotten any water combat weapon upgrades yet, not entirely sure. The abilities I have are so weak, that I have to kite for what feels like 3-4 minutes before I kill anything, and if they even hit me once, it's more than a quarter of my HP pool gone. Ground combat however, I absolutely wreck everything. Maybe I should just take up a profession and craft my own gear. Wouldn't mind the EXP either.

I am on Jade Quarry, I will likely not be there for very long since a group of us are trying to move to a server together.

One of my buddies is on Jade Quarry...not sure why he picked that server. He said one of his buddies was like 54 or so (this was yesterday), WONDER IF THATS YOU???

So, I played WoW for seven years.... is this game worth it?

As a Vanilla WoW player who has seen/done it all in the game (WoW), yes. I can wholeheartedly say YES. What's that, you're still here and not out grabbing the game off the shelf frantically knocking everything down? Shame on you, hurry up!

Come to Borlis, lot of us here, and it seems to be very stable and chock full of people (can be a good or bad thing I suppose). :)

But I'm 64 :)

Only gained 2 levels yesterday. Real life happened.

Truth be told I took off Friday to make it a 4 day weekend. I must CATCH YOU, even though we aren't even on the same server. Come to Borlis though if you guys do decide to jump ship (unless you have better reason to go elsewhere).

The skills system sucks. I wish they used the same one as in the first Guild Wars, this is just button mashing and the same as Diablows 3.

You in Toe's guild with Dremic and a I (and others) EPOQ?

Ugh I wish I could take Friday off, but I already took a week off for vacation time last week. Bah. Ah well, at least Monday is looking like a GW day. :)

I actually haven't joined up yet, I haven't been playing with anyone other than my brother and 1 RL friend. I plan on joining up by this weekend, though.

You better.

We rock.

Dremic bought us a 50 man Vent server too (couple people donated generously as well to not have to use the C3 software haha).

Good news

A user from another forum claimed that he received an email notification about a password change attempt, and in the account page, it showed that he last logged in from an ip address in CN (China), lol.

I got one too this morning. Deleted the email, business as usual. Passwords are strong, I'd be surprised as hell if they got through.

Are you an officer? Whats your characters name? I'll join up after work.

Aright I'm back in town and will try to get on tonight. What does the class breakdown look like? Are theives or rangers running amok?
