Running old school here, pertinent information as follows...

OS - Windows Vista x64
GFX - ATI Radeon 4850 512MB on latest Catalyst avaliable (12.6)

Ive been using Radeon Pro for a while now, but somewhere along the line it just stopped working. This also includes ATI Tray Tools and MSI Afterburner. I can sucessfully run the programs, but after entering a game they either crash or do absolutely nothing at all.

Example - I used Radeon Pro with Fallout New Vegas to display a FPS counter and force VSYNC and Triple Buffering. Now I get no FPS counter and the forced options in Radeon Pro no longer work. If I try to use ATI Tray tools or Afterburner the same thing happens. This is just an example and it happens with all games.

I can't give an exact time when the issue started to happening, but I believe it was sometime after updating to the 12.6 drivers. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled everything to no avail. Any help on this one? Thanks!

Brent - Uninstalled and reinstalled all mentioned programs. I also tried installing with administrator privileges; same result.

Luke - The 4850 is now a legacy product and because of this the card is no longer supported in the monthly driver releases. I double checked and 12.6 is the latest version. I haven't tried rolling back the drivers yet as 12.6 yields the best performance in newer titles like BF3, Skyrim and RAGE.

It's funny, after using RP and ATT for so long I almost forgot about Fraps. I installed Fraps and that got me a working FPS counter; terrific! Id still like to figure out why the other programs aren't working, but im happy with what ive got for now. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Did some more hunting around and found a solution to the issue.

Apparently certain Catalyst driver sets after 12.2 may not contain a file named "atipdlxx.dll". If this file isn't installed everything will work fine, but programs like RP, AB and ATT will cease to function. The fix is as follows...

* Download Catalyst drivers appropriate to your machine prior to 12.2 (I used 12.1)
* Extract drivers and go to the folder \Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF\B129753 (Or similar.)
* Find "atipdlxx.dl_" and extract this file using 7-Zip. You should now have a copy of "atipdlxx.dll"
* Copy this file to your \Windows\System32\ directory and Windows\SysWOW64\ if you're on 64-Bit.
* Radeon Pro, MSI Afterburner and ATI Tray Tools should all be working now!

Thanks again for the help everyone!
