cannot update gfwl batman error

I bought my copy of batman arkham city before the game came out off greenman gaming and just finally got back to reinstalling it for a play through with all the dlc's. As soon as it boots up and attempts to download the first patch and patch the game an error pops up and prevents the patching process to take place. I have tried downloading the stand alone patch and following the steps to install that and i get the same problem. I am unable to install any of the patches and can therefore not logg into windows live and get access to any of my dlc's. Anyone know of a work around for this problem? this is the error that keeps popping up.

Is that ingame? I had to run go to the GFWL website and install everything outside the game. Oh man, forgot about that mess. They really tried hard to make it as annoying as possible didn't they? The game was so awesome that I think it made up for such nonsense. There aren't too many games that can get away with that nonsense without enormous criticism.

No joke i have spent atleast 2hrs scouring the net for a fix with no luck and yeah you are right if the game wasn't so freaking awesome i wouldn't have even bothered at all.

No get that error after gfwl downloads the patch and i exit the game to install it. Like i said earlier on i even downloaded the stand alone patch from the arkham forums and i got the exact same error. The real unfortunate part is that the game is pretty much unplayable with the patches installed and non of my dlc's are even available either. I am really frustrated.

Have you tried downloading the latest GFWL from microsoft and installing it manually? You can download it here.

Started my DRM review of GFWL today. Even with a brand new out of the box install of windows 7 today I can't get FEAR 2 to install from the marketplace. GFWL seemed to be fixated on the idea that the C:\ is my install drive despite changing it in the settings. FEAR 2 took 3 1/2 hours to download had to delete it and try again. Still spinning it wheels. Honestly I really wanted to give GFWL a fair shot. Clean install of windows, All new hardware, GWFL completely updated, but I'm still at about a -2/10 with this. I can't recommend GFWL to anyone. In fact I would actually suggest just playing a game on Console before being forced to fight with GFWL.

Gonna have to treat myself and review Gog tomorrow.

First thing i tried and no love there either

While doing some additional research online i cam across this which actually seemed to work using the command prompt on win 7 "C:\Patch\setup.exe" /f "<path to game folder>". Shame i had to go through hell to get this game to work. Thanks to everyone that tried to help me
