NFC tracking for linens?

Hi everyone,

I am not sure whether I can post question like this here.

I am looking to track linens (aunt has a business and she normally loses a lot of lines when send to laundry). I know RFID is really expensive and maybe can use NFC with washable proof, example here http://www.buynfctags.com/nfc-laundry-token-ntag-26-mm.html

Is there any tracking NFC solution out there? probably open source or something? I think i need a reader to make this tracking possible.

this tracking is necessary, example she places 100 towels into a basket, and the reader will somehow show how many towels, etc? something like that.

I also believe this NFC has to put together with each linen, but it has to be small and not so obvious. Example putting NFC on towel and if it's too big, it feels weird.

Any help? Thanks.

Im not sure if that is possible since NFC is basically a chip and hard to place on a cloth, im not saying its impossible but very dificult to achieve.

I wouldn't look at "attaching" it to the linen, but rather making a laminated version that you could sew onto the label. (Laminating to make it waterproof if it isn't already.)
