[H]ardOCP & ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti DirectCU II Giveaway

The major two features I'm gunning for a 660Ti for are the slight performance increase over my crossfired 6870s while using have the energy, and the extra physx eye candy in Borderlands 2! After observing the DirectCU II cooled 6870s, I already know the cooler will do the job I want it to do :)

DirectCU from ASUS offers great cooling performance for a video card. Better cooling for a video card means I can push the video card further and overclock it.

An increase in overall performance will allow me to push my in-game settings further than a card without this kind of cooling.

Asus has always made quality components. I am sure these cards would be no different. What sets their cards apart from other video cards is their cooling systems.

This would be a huge jump for me. I have been trying to save to get a new nVidia card to replace my ATI 4870. I would make use of the DirectX 11 support along with the MASSIVE upgrade in vram. My 4870 only has 512mb on it. 2GB of ram would be an awesome upgrade. Another plus is the Kepler architecture, it is quiet, fast, and doesn't put off much heat. Would be a great upgrade me.

My gaming computer is out near my living room, where my fiance likes to watch any number of absolutely horrible television programs--programs which, if there was any justice in this world, would be classified as crimes against humanity and forever banned from television. After a long day of work, when I return home to relax and play some games, I am assaulted by the sounds of singing competitions, dance offs, and proto-lifeforms who have somehow attained the rank of "reality star."

You are probably asking yourself, "why doesn't this idiot just buy headphones?" Well, this idiot has bought headphones, and I wish it was all that simple. While I can no longer hear the intolerable naying of whatever soulless husk, millionaire reality star is currently infecting our television, my fiance can hear something else: my video card's fan approaching escape velocity attempting to keep itself from melting through the floor.

The fan noise has created an arms race of ear bleed inducing headphone volume and television volume: my fiance attempting to drown out the video card fan, and me attempting to drown out the fan, the television, and my fiance yelling about the fan drowning out the television.

So, how would an Asus DirectCU II GTX 660Ti improve my gaming experience? I would certainly gain higher frame rates and better image quality. I would likely lower my power bill with a more efficient GPU. Most importantly, the quiet operation and lower temps thanks to the nickel plated heat pipes, aluminum heatsink fins, and low-pofile fans will make sure my fiance and I can still peacefully coexist in the same room, so I can game in peace while she bears witness to the downfall of society.

It sure beats my GTX 260. It would be a significant upgrade in graphics power but also run cooler an quieter than my current card. Also I could play BF3 in higher graphics and enable longer draw distances so when I am flying my plane in Hardcore mode ( the only way to play ) I might actually see some of the ground targets before they see me!

The benefits? Getting away from AMD's buggy drivers

Getting back to a platform that seems to still be the primary
choice for gamers, backed up by a quality company and a
an awesome hardware platform.

DirectCU's are top notch, always awesome cards, that provide
unparalled support and benefit to the customer, backed up by
a company that warrants their products and takes care of the
customer.

Coming into the modern era of hardware with a brand that brings the goods in terms of performance. A cooling system that will work wonderfully in a small form factor pc for lan party awesomeness, and it will match the rest of my asus build :)

Because with the DirectCU II, I can finally get some peaceful sleep while my girlfriend is gaming.

Wow, where to start, upgrading from my 5870 would be awesome. The new 660 cards are great when it comes to power vs performance, they overclock well and even at stock clock speeds run great. Add in Asus as a manufacturer and how can you go wrong.

It would be especially awesome to win both the video card and mobo, but still awesome to win the video card. I've got a 4+ year old computer that is showing it's age with an AMD Radeon 5670 in it....would be great to replace it with a new actual current gen video card and turn on some fancy eye candy.

Asus is top of the line when it comes to motherboards, their other products I've used have also been top quality. (Netbooks, laptops, monitors, etc.) The ASUS GeForce® GTX 660 Ti DirectCU II in particular would be great for the lower temps, quiet fans at lower speeds, giving me a quiet gaming computer. The ASUS DIGI+ VRM and six-phase Super Alloy Power components give me the quality I expect from Asus and know I can depend on it for years to come. :)

I was debating on dropping cash on the Ti660. A win will allow me to move my 560ti to sons pc and then i can use this great card!

Excellent power efficiency, superior to reference cooling, plenty of horsepower for modern and future titles, and it'll look damn good in any system.

I've always wanted a GTX600 series card. But there isn't much of a need for it for me. However, my girlfriends 5 year old macbook (the old white one) has just given up on her not too long ago, and is desperate need of a pc, windows platform. She absolutely loves playing minecraft, and I offered to build her a custom pc but it is difficult to put together a quality, low budget pc. I've got a SB i3 2100 setup on the list and the only thing missing is a gpu. I've cheap'd out on the case a bit to save money, so air flow is compromised. The GTX660Ti D-CUII with its two massive fans would keep the GPU cool, and compensate for the lack of air flow. And with dx11 and physX to safe guard us for the future, you just can't go wrong. With an Asus GTX660Ti Direct CU II, it would not only complete my gift to her and exceed expectations, but more importantly, make her smile.

The main benefits for me will be reduced heat, lower power consumption, and no wife aggro for the upgrade!

I currently have the ENGTX570 DCII, and I love it so I'd like to stay with that product line.

It has best stock cooler which help you to push the card to max performance.

The new ASUS 660ti would give me a better gaming experience by providing me with the ability to use PHYSX, get higher framerates, and have a quieter, more efficient cooling design. The Asus 660ti is in every way better than my radeon 5850!

(on a side note I have always had ATI/AMD cards since the 7000 series. this would give me an excellent chance to be converted to NVIDIA!

I like my cards fast, cool, and quiet. This one will exhibits all three.

Great quality, superior cooling and would be a wonderful replacement for my old 8800GTS-512!

The ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti DirectCU II has a great cooler, reliable, and supports openGL 4 and higher! Can't beat that!

The Direct CUII cooling. I love that its also a dual slot cooler and not a triple slot.

I am actually in quite a bit of need of a new video card right now. Although my 570 runs pretty much everything I throw at it I've had a lot of problems with it over time. I am actually on my 3rd card from EVGA, the other two developing problems over time. Even though the card is working right now I do not trust it at all and I'm worried about it dying again and forcing me to go through the RMA process another time. Being out of work right now RMAing the card a lot gets expensive and I can not afford to buy something else. The 660TI would go a long way to removing a little stress.

I have also started to become something of a fan (pun slightly intended) of quiet computing. The 570 is fairly quiet when it's idle but it's pretty audible if I need to crank up the fan speed in a game. Speaking of that, the card does get pretty warm from time to time and a cooler running card will also help with noise as I won't need to crank up the fans to keep it cool while gaming.

I've been interested in the DirectCU cards for a while but have yet to have a chance to own one for various reasons. The higher-end cards being triple slot has been a big thing that has kept me away as I always tell myself "what if I want to go SLI in the future", with the DirectCU II 660 TI being only a dual slot it won't get in the way of any plans like that. On top of that, this card looks like it has been built to last and I'd really like having a card that I can use for a few years. I used to have an urge to upgrade once or twice a year but now I really just want something I can hold on to for a few years at a time and not replace. Since I have no real plans to upgrade to a higher resolution monitor or really do anything to my current monitor set up the 660TI, specifically the DirectCU II, looks like it fits the bill perfectly.

As my signature shows I can not make use of the Maximums V Formula at the moment, but I have a friend that wants to buy my current board and CPU from me and that should actually give me enough to pick up a processor to work with the motherboard.

SWMBO says my GTX 465 is too loud so the DirectCU II cooling system would be a plus.

Less power consumption and less heat generated.

Higher quality components used and the layout of the card is way nicer than the reference card.

My house gets dusty and my dog sheds badly so the double sealed fans ought to keep me out of trouble if the filters don't catch all that stuff.

Matches my Rampage 3 Extreme motherboard. :D

The 660 Ti DCII would be an excellent upgrade from my GTX 470. The 660 Ti is faster, quieter, and cooler (both literally and aesthetically!).

The benefits this card would have for me are:

Excellent heat dissipation with the DirectCU II heatsink which also means a general decrease in fan noise to achieve the same cooling power and don't forget the dust proof fan,I have seen stories on this very forum of another card makers fans seizing up after only a few months of use,to me this is a very important selling point since I live in a dry dusty area of the country.

Higher potential overclocks and longer sustained boost frequencies with the DirectCU II heatsink, since every one knows the cooler the card the better chance there is to push the clocks higher and with the gpu boost technology keeping temps low makes and even bigger impact.Adaptive V-sync is also a nice addition because who likes screen tearing or frame rate drops when V-sync is enabled and I would love to try out TXAA to see the beautiful anti aliasing mode in action for myself.

Excellent power delivery system and LED power status indicators to help diagnose problems if they arise,The digi+ system on my motherboard is excellent,it provides stable power even under intense loads. With the same power delivery system implemented onto this card as well as the solid state caps and chokes I would not have to worry about voltage regulation holding back an overclock or would I have to worry about ear splitting coil whine.quality parts all the way!

ASUS GPU tweak software looks to be a fully featured overclocking center, when overclocking I like to be able to monitor voltages, heat, core and memory frequencies as well as setting up custom fan profiles and the ability to push the card further than the stock range without editing some config files,GPU tweak seems to offer all that and more.

Folding at home is a distributed computing program that I take part in with the team on this forum (team 33 "The Horde") it is basically a program that lets your CPU or GPU run complex calculations for Stanford university so they can see the way proteins fold while they look for cures for cancers and other diseases,Nvidia GPU's especially powerful at running these types of calculations and pumping out WU's on this overclocked excellently designed card would be a great benefit to the cause.

ASUS reliability and support, even when you have a card that has been expertly engineered and carefully designed like the DirectCU II series of cards, shit can and will happen, how those problems are handled is part of what makes ASUS a great brand.

My computer is used for gameing on my tv, Media, also on my tv. and folding. This card will have me covered on all bases. It has HDMI out so it would hook up with no issue. 3d support ,Physx and power For a high end gameing experiance. For media it covers me with low noise, 3d support and 7.1 surround for my reciever. Finally I can fold 24-7 without a blast furnace next to my pc and this will give me a signifigant boost in points over my current rig. My only problem is I will probably sell my old card and probably buy a second for SLI.

Can't go wrong with Asus quality.

With this 660ti , I can devote my 560ti physx only !!!
