[H]ardOCP & ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti DirectCU II Giveaway

I think the DirectCU II itself will benefit me the most! My case is getting kindof hot around my video card area, and I may have to invest in a better motherboard too :/

Makes for some short hours for gaming -- so if I get the mobo and vid card then that'd solve both the problems!!

Due to medical expenses I am definitely not going to be able to afford anything computer wise for the next two-three years. Hopefully I will win something :)

TOP overclocked for extra performance from the get go. Runs 20% cooler, vastly quieter, and precision-powered. GPU Tweak gives the GTX 660 Ti tuning power

With the DIGI+ and Super Alloy Power, I'm hoping for a nice stable overclock without the whine most Nvidia cards have under load. That, and the DirectCu cooler would be a perfect fit in the near silent system I'd love to own.

The ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti DirectCU will keep my Video Card nice and COOL! Allowing more intense gameplay!!

Last Asus card I had was the 6800GT. Great card. Since then eVGA keeps sucking me in, but Asus with their custom designed heatsink does make me ponder going back to Asus for my video card needs.

So to keep with the post; I would like to give Asus another chance at replacing my 'go to' that eVGA currently has. I would love to see if their design is really as solid as I think it is on paper. It should be a very cool and quiet card while leveraging Kepler's newest technology.

Thank you for your consideration.

I'm looking to upgrade for two reasons. I can't run some of the latest games at full resolution with playable frame rates, and my current ASUS Crosshair III motherboard and ASUS EAH5770 will be going to my son's first computer! Very excited that he likes PC gaming too!

Reliability. As a victim of having to RMA my current video card multiple times due to problems, having a card made by ASUS, one of the most reliable companies in the business would allow me the freedom to worry about other things and not the functionality of my desktop for gaming and business use.

Overview
I'm a hobby graphics programmer and gamer. It's been a few years since I've been hardcore into the scene(s), but the time is ripe to make a re-entrance. I'm about to sell my "for-business-only" Macbook Pro and build a custom gaming rig.

Gaming
All I've got now is a Nintendo Wii, Raspberry Pi and a Macbook Pro. These simply do not cut it for gaming. I want to play Skyrim on max settings. I want to experience Dark Souls. I want to frag mobs and loot their corpses in Borderlands II with my brothers.
You see, I game online semi-regularly with two of my brothers, but we're somewhat limited to lowest-common-denominator games at the moment - stuff like Terraria, Diablo II, etc. Those games are great, but I want more!

Programming
In my undergrad I did a concentration in computer games - and took as many high-level rendering courses as possible, including getting special permission to do some graduate level courses. The reality of working for a AAA game company, then moving to web somewhat zapped my enthusiasm for graphics programming, but that, too, is now ready for a full-on reversal. Real-time tessellation of meshes like my old Radeon 8500 supported, full on displacement shading in vertex programs. Oh man, Cg was great! I used HLSL a lot, but fondly remember Cg in particular.

DirectCU II TOP and me
Cooler and Quieter
20% cooler and vastly quieter. I've always had a problem with my computer being too loud for comfort. That's a big focus for me as I build my next system - lots of large fans downclocked to improve airflow and reduce noise. Having a GPU that performs excellently and runs quietly is a key part of what I'm looking for.

GPU Tweak
I used to overclock my CPU and GPU all the time. Fine-tune for maximum performance while gaming, then later on with lesser systems I also explored down-tuning to prevent graphical artifacts and other signs of failing hardware.
It will be great to tweak up for better performance again!

Borderlands 2
Borderlands 1 has been one of the most graphically advanaced games that I've been able to play with my brothers. The thing is, it's pretty old and it's got quite a few problems. We're all really stoked on Borderlands 2!

This will greatly improve speed with current generation hardware and the DirectCU is leaps and bounds better than my furnace of a reference 470

Asus designed graphics cards offer great power delivery and DrectCU II is best performance/noise cooler available. Add Asus to Nvidia technology and drivers and you have one happy gamer. It is going to allow me to play faster. cooler and quieter in the newest games.

Sweet! I could finally run my simulation and train against fighting evil Abe in the coming zombie apocalypse. All in freaking sweet DX11, OC'd so hard it does laps about the LHC, and tessellation to the max! Oh, I'm bringing back the phrase "to the max". :D

For starters its Asus, and so far I have enjoyed several asus products that were excellent quality inlcuding my current motherboard. I also would enjoy the aftermarket cooler. My case doens't have a lot of external fans so it could use the extra cooling on the GPU. I also like the bump in stock frequency.

How would a GTX 660Ti enhance my gaming experience?
SPEED.

How does the Asus DirectCU design enhance the GTX 660Ti?
Cool and quiet, with headroom for overclocking, reliability, etc, etc, et cetera. All the reasons that I bought a previous generation DirectCU vid card from Asus.

superior design, want to switch from red to green. power consumption as well is a factor, these cards will be very power efficient.

The ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti would help in my quest for the best gaming experience bang for the buck. Superior cooling = better chance for a stable OC = better value for the money.

Thanks [H] for doing another giveaway!

If I win one, I might just go out and buy another for SLI as it takes two to tango . . . oh yeah, and they run cooler also.

Given the DCU2 cooler, should allow the card to overclock as high as a GTX 670. Should be a good replacement for my aging card in second PC.

Would do great in SLI config as well.

Would love to have a Kepler card. The DIGI+ and DX11 make it a great one.
Thanks for the "Giveaway."

Love the quality of Asus' products also this new card trumps what i currently have and would be nice to have something that runs cooler and is quieter while gaming

I personally love ASUS product. If ASUS makes it i usually end up getting one of their products over other brands. I have the Direct CUII 560Ti and they have done an amazing job on the cooling system. I have no doubt that the version on the 660Ti is just as amazing especially with the kepler chips running cooler. I am excited to learn that [H]ardOCP and ASUS have teamed up to give some of these away as I am currently looking to upgrade my gaming rig and it would be a nice upgrade to my FPS :)

A power efficient GTX6xx card will allow me to play The Secret World on maximum settings without sacrificing frame rate.

The ASUS GTX 660Ti DirectCU II will benefit my gaming experience through its design which allows it to be cool and quiet. My current video card sounds like a leaf blower when playing graphically demanding games. Part of the gaming experience for me involves being immersed within the game world, and having a loud video card detracts from that immersion. An ideal video card is one that can provide the performance to experience current generation graphics while staying quiet enough to remain "out of the way." The ASUS GTX 660Ti DirectCU II is a no compromise card which provides a cooling solution that would allow gamers to maximize their performance without the noise. After all, silence is golden.

Would love to have a quiet and efficient video card for a change! Combine that with ASUS's well deserved reputation for quality I'm really looking forward to trying this one out.

I have just invested into a new 27inch monitor, with a sleek 2560x1440 resolution. But suddenly, my 560Ti is not doing so well with games at that resolution.

660Ti looks to be in perfect position to fill my need for extra horsepower at that resolution. I need all the power I can get for Diablo 3 grinding at 2560x1440. Plus, I'm a huge fan of the revised cooler design. Stock is boring. Thank you Kyle and ASUS for making this possible.

The cooling! My htpc would benefit from a card that actually ran cool, opposed to my GTX280 that constantly overheats just opening notepad :(

Will stop me from breaking my computer due to rage quit in StarCraft 2 from a low frame rate. Will also run "Baby Einstein" at a higher frame rate making my child more intelligent.

The high end cooling and the fact that the card runs so cool means that I will be able to actually use my computer during these hot months. Currently my system gets so warm that the whole room gets so warm I can't stand to use my machine for very long.
