I needed a super cheap laptop for school. Woot had a deal and I went out and blew my money on a an A6 based Samsung Laptop. Yeah yeah AMD has been sucking for quite a long time. But honestly i looked at the benchmarks and it looked like it was either have shitty processor performance or have shitty graphics. I chose to take the decent graphics for my price range.

So go ahead and tell me how I did. Am I going to hate myself in a year or is this not a bad extra cheap laptop for $430? I want the honest truth and I'm military so don't worry about hurting my feelings.

As long as you're not expecting much from it, it seems ok, especialy if it gets 4 hours of battery life during normal usage.

honestly i know the laptop your talking about.. Its actually quite nice it will play some games and seems to have pretty solid construction.. only thing that concerns me with it is there are literally no air intake vents on it so it does run a little hot..

Don't worry, it was a good purchase. You can't get a decent desktop with a monitor and keyboard for that price.
Intel laptops with dedicated vidcard cost 2-300$ more and would've been above your budget.

last year i recommended a toshiba E-350 for my dad and he's been happy with it ever since.
Good for basic computing , movies and some casual games and the A6 is much better than the e350.
And it's bout what he paid for it last year ...

cpu is rated at 45w and if its anything like the e-350 it should be quite cool.

I have a A series quad that I love def best bang for buck if you want the ability to game on the side.

Looking to upgrade to the new A10 soon.

from experience i know it does not run cool.. if you play a game put it on a chill pad.. they will get upwards of 90c

depends on the brand , always some penny cruncher that decides he`ll save a dime somewhere and you wind up with a class action suit , thinking of hp and some dv series single heatpipe ...

using this laptop right now.. i like it, but, as said, it does get warm quick. runs SWTOR nicely. my only gripes are the straight in power plug, and USB port placement. i love the instant on, though. much faster than my wife's Acer Aspire TimelineX, and my mom's cheaper plain Aspire.

Not bad. $430 for a complete machine with a bit of warranty is a great price!

Sounds like you did pretty well to me. Only dropping $430 for something like this? I'd take that any day.

Thats not a bad deal at all. The A6 in your laptop is overclockable too, and can get pretty close to I5-2430 speeds. Again, you have to watch the heat, but it is quite doable (lots of folks do a common overclock to about 2.3ghz).
