Comcast Prepping A 305 Mbps Tier?

I know but seriously those games took forever to dl over psn you have to get them before there gone or you loose them.

You're not kidding. I don't know what Sony did to their PS3's network capability. It's piss slow compared to all of the computers and devices in the house even on my 50/15 Comcast connection. It takes about 30 minutes to download PS3 updates. Either it's huge or they've severely crippled the PS3's NIC.

The PS3 has terrible networking capabilities - wireless or wired. My PS3 is terrible at netflix - even with extreme 50 service. Every other device in my house handles it like a champ, even the Wii. The PS3 always suffers from quality drops and voice lag - issues that both present themselves with low bandwidth.

By my calculations, 250GB/300Mb = 189 Minutes. And probably cost over $150 a month. I'll take fiber, when I move to Tampa in a few months.

You can't divide, buddy it is 112 minutes not 189 minutes . I did it in my head and I am correct not bad for a 63 year old geezer who never uses a calculator.

Its to bad you never get rated speeds with comcast and they are one of the most hated US companies

I like the comcast in my area, I have gotten very few disconnects from them. Also they've been announcing now that they're upgrading the people in my area who are paying for the 25 mbs and 50 mbs to 50 mbs and 100 mbs respectively with no cost increase. Can't wait until my 25 mbs connection goes up to 50.

I liked comcast when I didn't live in the big city and most people in the area was poor. Never had slowdowns and pings were super low. Also never had an enforcement of caps 5-6 years ago when I was doing 500+GB/mo. Moved to Seattle by the university and shit would vary by the hour, it was horrible. Their billing always wanted to give us the shaft.

Frontier Fios where I'm at now (Kirkland) is a hell of lot better in terms of service and speeds, but the price isn't that much better that comcrap.

What's the point? With bandwidth caps all that speed seems just pointless. I would never pay what I am for my 300/65 FiOS tier if it had bandwidth caps. I easily top 2-3 Terabytes a month. Plus Commiecast will barely be able to offer it across the country. I can't even imagine them having many parts of their DOCSIS 3.0 network that have 16 bonded downstream channels that will be required to support this speed. Also what kind of upload? I doubt it'll be 65 meg , probably closer to 20-25 since 65 Meg would require 8 bonded upstream channels.

I'm Comcast is going to charge like $300 bucks a month for it.

Oh yea you're right, I used a script interpreter to do the calculation and must have entered a wrong number.

It's sad when I see providers in Germany being able to provide 50mbits down, 10mbits up on a DSL connection. That for less than $55(it varies, but its like 30-40 euros) and better than a lot of the "fiber options" you get in the US...it's just sad.

I think we just need Google to lay fiber wires everywhere and give us all the great service. Although I bet Comcast would sue for unfair competition or something :p

How about you stop having outages in my area instead of trying to offer tiers almost no consumer could fully utilize.

many could utilize and i think this is the issue, with more and more sites getting on faster pipes, comcrap knows that more and more people will peak out their 250G monthly limit that much faster and thus... have to pay fines... i mean fee's for going over that 250G limit....

why offer faster speed if the cap doesnt change??? so more people will go over it....faster and thus they make more money.
