Steam 2012 Summer Sale 7/12-22!

I just picked up both Dead Space 1 & 2 for 10 bucks.

I am shooting for quality single player experiences this sale. Last year I hit up a lot of indies and during the Winter sale I got witcher 2 Shogun 2 and multiplayer stuff.

I usually only buy during the Steam sales. 60 bucks can last you 6 months easily.

Picked up New Vegas Ultimate Edition for $10. Backlog keeps growing and growing.

Dead space 1 has a couple of annoying bugs. DS2 is much cleaner. The bugs for DS1 are connected to vsync. If I recall, you have to change it one way to get better mouse response. But that causes one moment in the game to block you from proceeding, so you have to change it back to get past that bug. Google dead space bug vsync and the details should come up.

I changed the vsync once at the start of the game as was fine all the way through; no issues. DS1 was a good game, but DS2 was noticeably better in both gameplay and story, but being that the story picks up where the last left off (almost exactly), you really should play them in order to understand the story. I'd definitely recommend them both.

I found that bug!!! - Some of the doors have events attached to them (as you walk up mob jumps out type of thing) the events are tied to the refresh rate. if I had the vsync off - the event would outrun the timer and the door wouldn't open... When I turned it back on the lag was horrendous (this is with the rig below) but I saw the event and was able to get past the door! Then turned it back off!

Great game thou.. well worth 5$

Ahhh, Dead Space 1 and 2 both quality story games? I haven't heard anything on number 2, but I want 1 for sure.

I tried to get out, but Steam keeps pulling me back in. :(

Yeah, like or hate the style, Dead Space series is fairly solid quality overall. Mainstream console games, sure, but good mainstream console games.

Im a sucker for indie games, a friend gift me orc must dies, bought payday the heist and Vessel. Just 9$ so far :)

im ready for a 20$ game!

This. While console games, the consoliness never really gets in your way.
That, and there's something to be said for the games being different. They're not just your same old shooter, COD with a new skin. I remember playing the first one, and actually being SUPER on edge for most of the game.

That's what a friend of mine was telling me last week, so it sounds most promising.

Dead space has been one of those games ... couldn't stand playing in utter darkness 90% of the time... I am sure its a good game but just not my type.I only put like some 30 mintues into the game.I prefer open sunny environments. Hope to complete it someday.

Dead Space 3 looks like it will be drastically different though. EA is going with the "broader audience" approach...

orcs must die is awesome. I really enjoyed that game.

DS2 was better on those counts, but some of the thriller aspect was gone out of it. I had a better idea when I was going to be ambushed and how.

I bought Vessel as well...had never heard of it, took a chance and bought it. Played a little, seems like a really cool puzzle game. I'm pleased with that purchase.

this steam sale is really starting to hurt my wallet :( ive already spent over $80 on just the steam sale, and almost $170 if you include other summer sales (amazon/gmg)

Thinking of Saints Row 3, is the DLC worth it?

Other than the Season Pass stuff (the actual bonus missions and whatnot), it's all pretty much cosmetic.

I haven't played through all of the mission DLC but from the Genki stuff it wasn't that impressive IMO. Seemed like more of the same.

So far I've bought :
Zeno clash
Trine 2
Fallout new vegas
dear esther
Ys Origin

Such good little deals

The deals on Fallout 3 and Fallout NV is sooooo tempting! But I am trying to resist because I want to get a physical copy of these games ...

I got the games I was really looking for in Max Payne 3, Hard Reset, and Skyrim! Now I need to finally beat Oblivion after pouring probably 1200 hours into that game over the years. Damn new mod releases and the character-resets they cause!

Pulled the trigger on Fallout NV Ultimate. So far I've got:

Trine 2 - $5
Orcs Must Die! - $5
Fallout NV Ultimate - $10

Doing good so far. About a game a day. Trying to keep this pace so I won't be broke by the end.

Darn it, I hate you Steam! All these sales are killing my wallet :( I finally bit on FO3 GOTY. My reasoning was there is a risk it will not work on my Windows 7 x64 system. Better to waste $5 than $15 for the physical copy in case it does not work. I had to justify my purchase somehow! :D I will continue my stoic resistance to purchasing FO: NV

Was Dead Island worth buying at $11.99. Not sure if it's worth it and how replayable the game is. After all, I hardly play Left for Dead 1 or 2.
