Sandisk Ultra 120GB SATA II SSD $79.99 w/fs

Are the sandforce controllers (SATA II anyway) a hit or miss kind of thing or what? I was thinking about getting this for my laptop but I don't know...

SF-1222 has never had reliability issues AFAIK. OCZ transitioned from 34nm flash to 25nm flash and didn't tell the customers or make different model numbers, that's the only mark against SF-1222.

I have never had an issue with my SF-1222 based drive, its been a rock solid OS drive since day 1. My only gripe now is that mine was half the size and double the cost of this Sandisk drive. :/

Just a friendly reminder. Directron deal 6/28 thread has a 128gb Verbatim Sata-II drive for 62.99+shipping (mine was 70.52 after). Uses another Phison controller. Mine arrived today, seems to be in working order. Dunno about reliability of drive as reviews are near non-existent. Sometimes no news is good news :)

could you possibly post an AS SSD shot for me one what the Sata II speeds are?

Extremely happy with this drive for the $105 I paid for it back a month or so ago so this is a screaming deal for it. I would have bought another so I could have a SSD steam drive (I only install a few games at a time) but I will use my samsung 830 for that and use the $63 ssd for my macbook pro drive since its only sata II anyways.. woot hot deals for raping my wallet.

Yeah, not the greatest thing, but its not sandforce.Looking at the review of the OP's post looks like quite a few failed drives :(

Here's a pic of AS-SSD
On the LEFT is the verbatim (empty)
On the RIGHT is the Samsung 830 (OS drive)
Both limited on Sata-II.

Another with Crystaldiskmark, labeled.
