Ive just upgraded my PC motherboard and casing and somehow either I stupidly lost the speaker pin cable that connects to the motherboard (where the power LED, HD LED, Reset SW goes) or it never came with my case/motherboard. I know for sure that I t hrew out the one to the old case/motherboard so now I need a one =(

You need a cable for a PC system speaker or for a front panel audio header or what?

Thing is I dont remember if this cable came with my motherboard / case. I could of sworn I never seen it. and I threw out the one from my old motherboard/case.

ATM I have Audio coming from Case front Panel I/O but nothing coming out from the motherboartd I/O going to assume the cause of this is because the missing cable.

Eventually you'll be one with the Force and not need such a thing. I haven't connected one in at least a decade.

Meh they'd still be nice once in a while. When I got my M4Gene-Z last month it wouldn't POST, and the debug LED didn't say anything remotely useful. I haven't had a PC-speaker in a decade too, and that was the one time I wish I had one and did not.

Some people want them just since they're used to them, and they can be useful if you fail to POST. Not that you would know that, I suppose.

If you fail to post it can only be a certain variety of problems, and generally failure present themselves in certain ways that anyone with a bit of sense can trouble shoot without too much issue. Eventually you get used to 'this behavior is x problem' and work well enough without that irritating speaker and beep codes.

Here's what you're doing, btw, and I'm sick of it: You're following me around and posting in all the threads I post in and you're being a bitter little bitch, with bitter little replies - directed squarely at me. Feel free to leave me the fuck alone. I don't like you either, but I don't do what you're doing, so man up and stop. I don't know if people like you get leeway because you've been here for years or what, but you're being fucking pathetic.

To the OP, that cable is only for post beeps, etc. it has nothing to do with audio from your motherboard. A lot of cases do not have a speaker anymore, so would not have a cable. A lot of MBs have little speakers like the one pictured on the wire built on the MB.

bah, mine would just piss off my wife on bootup. you are not missing anything, and the post codes are not useful if you do not have them handy. I was never able to diagnose a problem using those codes.

yeah that is what I thought...

Thx JohnDC

BTW... Does anyone know if there are any USB based sound cards that put out good quality on speakers?

As I said I recently upgraded my PC with a Gigabyte Z77 Sniper 3, a 1600w PSu and Asus 6950 DCII (had 3 6970's so total of 4 cards now) inside a Thor case (10 PCI slots) It took quite alot of time to manage to put everything in + the watercooling stuff and I'd really really really hate to take this apart to RMA the board. I would rather take the loss and spend a little money for a sound card than to spend a that time disassembling + reassembling + RMA time.

I can't use a PCIE card because I have no space close enough to fit the card and have not found an extender longer than 15cm (will need longer) to do so..

There are many. Get thee to the computer audio/soundcards board. :)
