The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

Gotta MiniSD card here, with full-size adapter, 1gb. New in package. Ships USPS (either Priority or First Class).

Note that this is indeed a MiniSD card -- NOT a MicroSD! This is the middle size in between a "regular" SD and a MicroSD. IIRC most phones can't use this -- I know none of the ones in my house take it (Pantech Impact and at least three generations of well-used Blackberry).

If you can use it, PM me and we'll get things going. If I don't hear from someone by next Friday (June 29) then it goes to the thrift shop. Trades welcome, although I probably should mention that I can't add cash.

I also have several Socket 462 motherboards. IIRC they are all ATX and none have internal graphics. None are tested, and I'm really not interested in investing the time and energy to change that (sufficient money or trade offers might persuade me to change my mind). These will ship in a Flat Rate box for $11.00 each.

EDIT: Socket462 boards pending :D

anyone have an am2/3 mobo thats no longer been used or needed? Neighbors HP slimline mitx mobo take a dump on me so i'm trying to find another board to use the x2 5200.

I have a few (I can get more if needed) temp sensors. These aren't the small ones for mounting in tiny space...they are roughly the size of 22 ammunition in diameter and about an inch or so long. I work in a refrigeration company and we sometimes toss a bunch of them unused. These are being used in refrigeration system so I'm not sure if they would work elsewhere.

Let me know if anyone needs a few for their PC or other projects.

Three Diablo 3 guest pass available.

Will only give to 6+ month members. No newbies.

One D3 guest pass remaining.

EDIT: All gone. Buschman, sorry, someone PM'ed me for the last key literally 1-2 minutes before you did.

Looking for Dell Inspiron 1525/1526 Lid (just the lid, not the whole assembly) any color but pink.

Also some DDR2 SODIMM 512mb+...

NICKSTAR, I may have something for you, check your PMs when you get a chance ;)

BTW, does anyone have one of those really cheap Hong Kong Krap MP3 players? The super-generic and super-small 'clip' type is what I'm looking for. I already have one (a Sylvania rebrand), but what I
want to do is take it apart -- which I don't want to do on my primary player!

I would prefer one with internal storage (rather than the "TransFlash"-based variety) but I'm not too picky. No, I don't have the patience to order one from Hong Kong and take a month to get here, or I wouldn't be posting this.

See here for a bit more info --> http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1702340

I have three Guest Passes for Red Orchestra 2 GOTY (3 days worth of full game content) on Steam to give away or trade for other passes/cheap games on Steam

Hey, something else weird I'm looking for.

I've got four dell motherboards (IIRC two optiplex, a dimension, and a precision) that I need to test, and can't because dell being dell they used a very strange front-panel-header scheme. It's a 34pin ribbon cable (2mm pitch at that!) off the mobo to a daughterboard with ports. The lights and buttons connect to the daughterboard via pin headers.

If someone has that daughterboard and the 34pin cable, and is willing to part with it, that would be AWESOME. (Yes I know ebay has it about as cheap as I can get it [H]ere, but I'd rather avoid ebay if I can.)

My ZIP is 27344. (The ZIP+4 is 27344-6644, if that helps any.)

Does anyone have IDE ribbon cables available? Really just need one if anyone can spare it.

Also need one of those IDE cable here and my zip is 92617. Thanks!
EDIT: what's the difference between 40 and 80 pin? The cable will only be used for one of my old hard drives as I believe there is something I need in that drive...

Oops, it's been a while. See below. :)

Err, no. 40pin 40wire = old ATA/33. 40pin 80wire = ATA/faster-than-33 (anything from /66 through /133). Every other wire is a ground wire, to allow for better shielding, to allow for better speed. Go electromagnetism. (It's probably possible to get ATA/66 to work with a 40pin 40wire cable, but good effing luck.)

Floppies are 34pin 34wire -- no extra grounding wires because floppies are bloody damn slow.

FWIW, notebook IDE is a 44pin cable -- the extra 4 pins are the power wires. Not a bad idea considering that those HDDs only pull about 2.5W at the most.

I have a bare dell board that has that too.. you can just jump the pin with a screw driver if your brave enough

I've seen that. First time looking at it gave me a headache, dizziness, and nausea. This time I think I've got it. I'm going to leave my request up for now... but I will try to jump it. That connector layout sure is a mess, though!

Hey guys, I have two Chinese knockoff iPhone chargers (one white and one black) for free + shipping. Shipping should be ~$3.

I purchased both of these chargers from eBay and the reason I'm giving them away is because the power circuitry on them is shoddy. What happens is if you have a capacitive touchscreen plugged into the chargers the touchscreen receives a phantom input and it becomes almost impossible to use the phone (only while plugged in). But I've also used these chargers with other phones and they work fine as long as a capacitive touchscreen is not involved.

Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that I'm trying to get rid of defective products, please understand that I purchased both of these chargers new from two completely unrelated sellers. The touchscreen problem is the compromise that you make when you pay $3 each for a knockoff charger.

Please send me a PM if interested. You must have a substantial reputation on this forum or on HeatWare to qualify. You must have a HeatWare account to quality. My own Heat is currently at +50 (under my handle here)

Hmm looking for some help on 2 things. I'm looking for an IDE to SATA converter adaptor for an old IDE hdd I have. (Trying to avoid buying a new hdd to save some $$). The other piece is called "Corsair USB 3.0 to 2.0 adaptor". I think its $5+s/h on their site. I'm sure these come in free with selectcases and wondering if anyone has a spare that they don't need.

If anyone has any of these please let me know. I have PayPal and will pay shipping to NY 11763. Any help will be appreciated. I know I'm new to the community but I do need some help. I will keep an eye here in case I got an old part one of yous may be in search for.

I have 2 Sound Blaster Audigy sound cards for the cost of shipping. Pulled from working machines but as-is. Only users who have given will be considered. PM me with your heat account + list of stuff you've given away.

Free for shipping:
Intel InBusiness 5-port ethernet hub with AC adapter (working great)
10' VGA signal extension cable.

I'm in 32609 if you want to guestimate shipping.

Looking for physical in-store coupons for Lowes and HomeDepot.
I know lowes has a 10% floating around..

I get the keys to my new house on Tuesday so I could really use any kind of house repair type coupon I can get.

You'd probably get one from filling out a change of address form at the post office. Last time I did it, I got a 15% off for Lowes.

I might try that, actually. I'm trying to get a couple hundred feet of outdoor ethernet and apparently they have it reasonably priced - coupons would help.
