Finally unlocke/rooted my GN.

I did it the second I got it out of the box. Running Jelly Bean right now and it's amazing.

congrats man :D Mine lasted maybe an hour ....

I did try JB , but a few of my apps dont work fully yet....cant wait to try it out more.

When I got my GNex Friday it was activated and updated to 4.0.4. That lasted about 18 hours (we had relatives in town). I honestly didn't do squat with the phone. Yesterday morning when I got up with the kid it was an immediate:

fastboot oem unlock

and flash of SuperUser. 5 minutes later JellyBAMF 1.2 was up and running. JB is awesome and I won't look back. I'll patiently wait for a stable CyanogenMod 9.1.

Loved my old Thunderbolt but this GNex is fucking awesome. Once you go pure Google you never go back. Now if only APEX Launcher would get an update so that it works on JB so that I can compare it with NOVA. ;)

Rooting and 'unlocking' (if your phone was even carrier locked to begin with) have absolutely no effect on performance or signal.

But congrats on the GNex... I'm trying to decide between it and the Nexus 7 tablet...

I dont think the OP was saying that the toolkit was used to improve signal, rather they used it for the root/unlock procedure....the newest radio I find (on the GSM) from the JB "leak" seems a bit better thant he one I previously had.

Well upgrading your radio helps improve your experience and my phone would never update to 4.04 so that also made a difference.

I just put the cyangenmod 9 RC on my nexus yesterday, runs flawless. I can also tether for free on my unlimited plan which is great.
