Samsung Most Preferred Consumer Electronics Brand

3 Samsung LCD on the walls at my house, look great and never had any issues with them.

I'm partial to Panasonic and to a lesser degree Toshiba, myself. I almost never buy Sony (price premium isn't worth it IMO). Apple I dislike for the typical reasons a lot of techies dislike them.

I don't have any issue with Samsung though - my favorite dumbphone was a Samsung, and it was very tough, and they were my #2 choice for a plasma. They apparently make some good smartphones, they make good plasmas, decent LCDs, etc. Maybe it's that they don't make any terrible products - I generally consider them good bang/buck.

I have a 46 inch LCD and no new firmware to fix media problem on certain AVI files. Another example is their P3 mp3 players was abondoned. No new firmware. Samsung is great getting new products out but fails their previous customer base who bought into their electronics.

I have to say I agree that samsung is my #2 choice for TV's, although I own a Panasonic (primary) and a Toshiba Plasma doesn't mean I dislike the panels on Samsung, I actually believe they are top notch, just these were better buys at the time. Dislike my Toshiba though.

I've loved every Samsung device I've ever owned. They've always been top-notch quality and just worked.

Panasonic Plasma's are still the best consumer level TV's you can buy. Samsung comes in a close second with its LED (and CCFL which is surprisingly still quality) LCD's.

Sony can suck a fat cock. They hyper inflate their lines with features that ONLY work with other limited Sony products , they also generally cost more for no real reason at all , probably for the pleasure of owning a Sony product

Toshiba is getting out of the TV game I believe and Sharp makes "Ok" TV's and still has banding problems with them. Honestly either Panasonic or Samsung and your golden really.

This. Panasonic, well the old Pioneer Kuro, is still the best TV I've ever owned. All my new TV's are Samsung though and am very pleased with the quality they deliver. Sony on the other hand is well...overpriced and pretty much the Apple of the TV line.

My 24" SyncMaster T240 has been treating me great for years now. My 52" S-PVA Samsung ToC TV has been a beast too. I used that as a monitor till I got my Yamakasi.

I <3 Samsung. Never had a problem with them ever.

Not too shabby. I'm in the minority as I went from a Sharp CRT to a LG LCD, Panasonic Ultra-fast booting Blu-Ray. Do own a few Samsung things though.

Most people don't even know where Samsung is from. Consumers like catchy names is all ;)

Also all those bitching about Sony. They use a majority of Samsung panels in there TV lineup so you are paying for the name. although they have added a few other manufacturers these days. Oh and they charge a arm and 2 legs for replacement parts since the flooding last summer.

In Sci-fi, the behemoth corporate conglomerate that seemingly sells everything usually has this long winded and somewhat sinister sounding name.

In the real world, we call it Samsung. :)

Me and my Nexus S and other Sammy products nod in approval.

Then dont sit on it and such? Ive had Latitudes for seven years continuously now and theyre the most reliable computers ive owned. My recently replaced D630 (replaced for hardware refresh for Windows 7 etc) flew 350-400,000 miles and even fell off a moving vehicle. Not sure how you manage to break a Latitude short of obvious intentional abuse.
D505. I heard something rattling as soon as I opened the box. Popped the cover off of the LCD hinges, and saw that one screw was just sitting on top of the hinge, not screwed in at all.

Six months in, half of the keyboard stopped registering. Overnight shipping and I have a new keyboard.

And a month before the standard warranty expired, dead hard drive. More overnight shipping.

As I've explained to all of my friends- Dell has the best warranty because at some point you'll need that warranty. I'm very careful with my laptops, to the point of not flipping them while they're running because of the platters in the hard drive.

HP Laptop and Acer Tablet here. Nothing Samsung or Apple do I own.

Ah but what about the memory and storage, heck even some of the components soldered to the board may well have come from Samsung.

Not had any trouble with anything Samsung branded so far, SSD runs like a dream, monitor hasn't had any problems, and the four year old 1TB HDD is still running so I can't complain.

I have mixed emotions on Samsung, although I own a LOT of samsung stuff...

1) Washer/Dryer - work great 5 years later, but you would have thought they could have worked around the mildew smell in front loading washers by now.

As someone mentioned, try Tide Washer Cleaner, but realize it's going to take a couple of loads to work. I think it recommends doing it twice if you have a problem. Also, if you've been putting in non HE detergent, stop. The excessive suds keep the clothes from getting clean and can cause mildew issues, along with potentially burning out the water pump.

Our Sears units do the same if we dont leave the door open after finishing a load. It affects more than just Samsung.

True. Sony lost me ever since they sold CDs with rootkits.

We stopped buying Sony when they knowingly sold defective RPTV's that had optical blocks issues and just said screw it no one will find out.

Samsung's more likely to be on top as they produce a much wider array of products than the others... But uh... What's the point of these polls with such small sample sizes?

Forty-one percent of the more than six thousand respondents in the US and Europe said they probably or definitely would buy products made by Samsung.

I always find it a little disingenuous the titles they give these articles, but I understand why they do it -- gotta get those webpage hits.

I like Samsung products. Their TV's are top notch. And my Epic4g is still going strong after almost 2 years.

Also I do love my samsung products, one of the few brands I still tend to have confidence in.

I've owned a few Samsung TVs and they've all been great. I still own 2 and both are still working after several years as well as a monitor that's great as well :) I originally bought an Asus that died on me and replaced it with the Samsung.

I also own a Samsung Vibrant droid phone that has survived dips in the pool and numerous drops without cracking its screen. The only thing I've had to replace was the front speaker but that was because I broke that when I tore the phone apart.

I don't think Samsung will follow in Sony's shoes. Sony made the mistake of allowing quality to dip and charged inflated prices for mediocre products as well as rely heavily on Sony only proprietary hardware/software. Samsung is still cheap and very competitive with respect to price and embraces current standards rather than dictating their own and charging a tax for it.
