Another hurdle or two passed and the Raspberry Pi will need no hardware modifications to begin shipments. Good news for early recipients, but for the masses still waiting patiently to put in orders are still looking at an extended waiting period.

we’ve used the time to make sure that alongside the CE requirements, the Raspberry Pi also complies with FCC regulations (USA) as well as CTick (Australia) and what we’ve been calling “that Canadian thing”.

I think the initial enthusiasm for the Rpi is starting to fade with the numerous delays.

I'm still in line to order one, but I'm not sure I'll get one with further delays.

same here
I have found other things to do with my spare time that was going to be spent on the Rpi because of all the delays.
I also resurrected a couple old PCs to do what I was going to do with the Rpi.
So until I get a lot of spare time again there is no sense buying one to gather dust.

Sweet! Going to wait for the purchases of it to slow down before buying one though.

Can't wait!

So in 2 weeks, another tiny batch will be released, sell out in minutes and crash any site selling them.

Then the waiting will begin again :(

I wanted to buy a few of these, but like others, got bored while waiting.

Yea this, probably oos again on the first day. I guess I will just test my patience to wait until I can go on any day of the week and buy one in stock. :D

They should have just fucking had a stock of them and THEN announced and released them instead of all this bullshit.

This! Hay guys!! Respberry Pi is out.. oh wait we only have enough for a few though :D Le sigh.... But then patience is virtue hehe

Which was predicted by many.
They are very good at creating hype.
Meanwhile, other interesting projects ship but don't get so much press.

like what? I'm curious.
I know about the hdmi dongle which sports a TI Dual Cortex-A9 OMAP 4.

these are alll built to order now, so when you order you get one in 30days. (once the delays are over)

so the people complaining about not getting one its kinda silly :D

AFAIK only 2000 have been delivered to Farnell/RS component and those have not shipped yet.

So we are still missing 8,000 from the initial 10,000 batch.

I guess the delays are not over.

Agreed. The whole release was handled very poorly IMO and it seems like a lot of people lost enthusiasm for the product very quickly.

Not ordering one until someone posts the gotchas. Every single time something comes out that is supposed to play everything it's something that it sucks at, like 1080i, or high bit rate content, or the UI is sluggish or some other gotcha that everyone overlooks. I've been burned too many times to fall for it again. It will suck at something, I guarantee it.

it's cheap enough that it doesn't really matter if something small has an issue...
