Still looking for one of these to add to my collection. I dare not pay the obscene prices these things are going for on ebay. Surely someone around here has one laying around don't they?

Card can be PCI-E or AGP, but if there are any offers for PCI-E models then I may be looking at getting a pair of them for some classic SLI action.

Not currently looking for any lesser models in the Geforce 6 series, it's got to be a 6800 Ultra.

Yes, they did. I believe it was the last best option for AGP users.

Actually the last and best AGP option was the HD 3850 AGP card or the HIS HD 4670 OC AGP card preceeded by the GeCube X1950XT, Gainward 7800GS Golden Sample ( really a 7900GTX ), 7950GT, X1950, HD 2600XT, HD 3650, 7900GS and finally the 7600GT and 7800GS. Pardon me if I missed any :)

You listed them all:)

I got an x850pro AGP if interested. Single slot

I have one it a used unit in my shop. How much were you lookin to pay? I do believe is a PNY, but not positive.

No more than $30 shipped. I think that's a fair price seeing that I just picked up a 7900GTX for $35 not too long ago. They typically go for $80+ on ebay which is ridiculous.

Is it a PCI-E or AGP card?

I remember looking at the Ultra when I got my X850XT PE. The X850 was very recently pulled out of service, but is still working like a champ. I had some great times gaming during these card's GPU reign.

I missed everything between the Radeon 9800 series and the Geforce 8800 Ultra. Hard to believe I survived on a system that was that behind the times for that long. I suppose it's a testament to the longevity of the 9800 Pro.

I suppose that's the reason for my collection. To go back and revisit all the graphics cards I missed out on.

I've already collected:
  • Geforce 256
  • Geforce 2 Ultra 64mb
  • Geforce 3 TI 500 64mb
  • Geforce 4 TI 4200 128mb
  • Geforce 4 TI 4600 128mb
  • Geforce FX 5500 256mb PCI
  • Geforce FX 5950 Ultra 256mb
  • Geforce 6600 GT 256mb AGP
  • Geforce 7900GTX 512mb

I just need the 6800 Ultra and I'll have the flagship card from every Geforce series all the way up to Geforce 8. :D (Except for 7950GX2, which I might consider trying to find too)

I'll talk to the other guys in the shop. We usually don't piece out used rigs, but I have a 9800GTX+ I might be able to swap into it and then sell it as a Diablo 3 PC. I'll get back to you tomarrow. Oh, and its PCI-E.

Bump for old school goodness, I've got 2 6800 xt's and 2 7950 gx2's bought from eBay, got one of the 7950gx2's for less than $30

free bump

Sweet. Thanks man. :)

If it's a go, then I'll be on the hunt for a second card then.

BFG 6800 ULTRA was a beast!! I remember selling one on ebay for 500 bucks. RIP BFG :)

It was definitely one of the largest increases of performance Nvidia has had. It was miles ahead of the 5950 Ultra. When it came out it was the first time I had envy since getting my 9800 Pro. :D

It seems my shop doesn't want to deal with the potential problems with selling stuff on forums. Sorry man.

I have a BFG 6800 Ultra I'll part with. Shoot me an offer. It's in my PC right now though since my 480 got leaked on by a failed rad today.

This thing has been collecting dust for quite some time so I'll be more than happy to sell after I replace my 480.

Excellent. PM Sent.

EDIT: Okay, so that takes care of one PCI-E card, but I'm going to want a second one now for some SLI. I'll keep this thread going 'til I find one. :)
