Which 670 to buy?

Have you got your 670 running yet? How does it compare to your 448? Worthy upgrade?

It's faster by a bit - but rather if it's worth i dont know... probably not.

I was maxing games at my res with 448... reason I bought was power savings... I am running it on open air now since I'm painting my comp

Still waiting for the asus card. I hope to see the Asus card at amazon soon. I need the quietest 670 card.

No such thing as quiet until you watercool. Those little fans are always noisy thus I spend about $100 a card so i dont hear them.

Nah, custom-cooled cards with a noise-foamed case (stock or custom) = quiet too. My gigabyte gtx 670 oc SLI is below the ambient noise floor of my case's other (quiet) fans, even while gaming 99% of the time, if I mute my speakers.

Hard to believe depending on what radiator and fan combination is being ran on a liquid loop. Besides the noise water cools much better than air heat sinks.

Good looking case.

I might get HD7850 for power savings for 28nm without the high price tag. Just waiting to see how the MSI Power Edition HD7850 turns out.

I use very quiet fans with controllers on them to reduce voltage, while water cools better it is not necessarily than a properly-done air-based PC.

I think the gigabyte is what I will end up getting. I am going to put a waterblock on mine and I would hate to sacrifice the shorter length for the full size gigabyte card, but it looks like it will be worth it.

Any input on wich reference brand seems to be the best overclocker?
I know MSI have one at msrp with 1034mhz stock

Yeah, but when is the ASUS TOP coming out? I really want one, and it's the only one that I would spend the money on in the absence of of 4gig 670 from EVGA, but this whole lack of communication on when cards will be available is pissing me off. Also, price very much matters... so we'll see. Still waiting to hear back from Galaxy with more information about an RMA on my 560ti that started artifacting running Diablo 3 on high settings at 2560x1440. I'll probably wait to ship my 560 off until I have a 670 in because I can't live without my desktop machine...

[EDIT] Oops, they sent me a form email last night and I missed it, and I discovered that my intake filters were clogged. Cleaned those and card ran fine. Realized that I had never used the Galaxy overclocking utility, so I installed that. It's running stable at faster than the speeds [H] got when they reviewed the card!

I got myself Asus DC2 and it is very nice GPU. Ultra quiet and 70c max...

What I dont like about gtx 670 is that is not better than my 580 light 3gb in BF3 multiplay. Same minimum shit below 30fps in tanks. Avg is better offcourse but still in 1080p with 4xaa exp. is same ass 580. On the same clock 980mhz 580 us even faster..Dont know about other games didnt tested yet..

Pretty sure it is a BF3 problem, for some reason FPS drops when you are in first person view in a tank, but it's fine in 3rd person view? Something to do with the filter they apply to make it seem like you are using the tank camera. I get this on my setup as well.

Asus Direct CUII TOP version...binned and not luck of the silicon draw.

That's not reference, though. It's a custom long-PCB.

Best reference seems to be MSI OC at msrp, best card period at MSRP seems to be the Gigabyte OC WindForce.

Which app do you like to guys like best for overclocking the GTX 670?

I have EVGA Precision and Galaxy Xtrme Tuner HD

Afterburner. Same basic core as PrecisionX, but there are some problems with Precision not saving settings properly (which may have been fixed in new releases - I've been on Afterburner for a while).

Would the Gigabyte OC WindForce version be quieter or louder than the Asus Direct CUII version ?

I just need the quiestest card?

So has the "ASUS GeForce GTX 670 Direct CU II TOP 2 GB" been available yet? I dont see it listed on Newegg/Tiger Direct, let alone "sold out". Are we expecting them to come out later this month, considering Nvidia was put on the top of the list for the components to build the cards? Is there any info on whether or not there will be a 3Gb or 4Gb version of the Asus Direct CU II?

Pre-orders have shown up in Canada but no cards in NA yet it seems. It was only listed once as available but I'm not even sure if it was. No info on the 4GB version either.

Thank you. I dont NEED more than 2Gb considering i use a single 1080P monitor, however when the next gen cards started coming out with 3-4Gb it was nice because it is kinda future proofing the cards, so getting a 670 2Gb...i wish it was 3Gb but i think i will be just fine.
