I am currently rocking a Crucial M4 64GB I purchased in Febuary-March. Would it be wise to pick up a used one for $50-$60 or sell it and purchase a Samsung 830 128GB drive or another M4 in 128GB flavor.

I read on some review site that 64GB SSD's are not the optimal drives to raid with and the bigger the drive the faster it will be. Is there truth behind this?

This 64GB my first SDD and it has been awesome for me but I want to have other games besides BF3 and FIFA 12 on my SSD. I don't have many other programs to put on there and I just want my games and OS to load fast and have the best responsiveness possible.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks. :D

The safest option with SSD's is NOT to RAID them for lack of TRIM support and garbage collection (unless this has changed; somebody let me know). However, seeing that you already have one, you might just get a big HDD and use the 64Gb for only a few games and windows.

RAID? Not advised (unless the same size - then RAID 0 for mirroring). However, I would advise instead to look at new (not used) 120/128GB SSDs, as they aren't as pricey as they used to be.

My current preferred option (all SSDs - not just that size) is, in fact, the 128GB version of the m4.

The only difference is that the bottom one includes an adapter for 3.5" bay mounts; however, you can buy the adapter separately at MC for less than half the difference (if you need it) which makes choosing the latter model pointless.

If you check out the sig below, I have the same storage drive that you do (1TB WD10EADS) - this particular one was salvaged from a dead MyBook (fried electronics from a plugology error by the original owner; the drive itself worked fine - she got a replacement and the data from the old drive was backed up to the new MyBook and I kept this drive as payment). Despite the poor (by comparison) rep the Caviar Green drives have compared to their Black relatives, the Greens (this is my second - the first, a 500GB Caviar Green A/V that was originally sold at Best Buy, is now in Mom's refurb) aren't all THAT bad as long as you disable the drive spindown; even better, the 1TB models have the same 32MB on-drive buffer as the first-generation Caviar Blacks of the same size, so I gained both capacity *and* performance. However, the larger SSDs have finally fallen in price enough that I can desist my stalling and actually buy.
