just got a 670 got 2 silly questions

using a p8z68-v pro gen 3 + gigaby oc gtx 670

questions:

1. in gpu z it says it idles at pcie1.1x16 but when i run the render test it switches to pcie 2.0x16. Didn't notice this with my 6950 so I'm not sure.

2. Is it safe to leave the plastic covers/cap on the sli connectors and dvi/hdmi/dp ports? looks kinda cool lol

Just to give you a second answer to assauge any concerns, silent-circuit is right. #1 is normal behavior for power-saving and will switch when you initiate a 3d app. #2 is fine as the covers are not conductive.
