My desk. Don't laugh at the Dell...(through a series of happy accidents at Dell Outlet it was $160 for the XPS with a i5-750, and I've upgraded it a bit.) You can see a bit of my son's monitor through the hole in the wall.

My wife's workstation. She's an Etsy machine. Notice the cheap spraypainted recycled case on her PC. At least it's a quad core Athlon.

Heh, my wife is an Etsy seller herself! The DIY world can be pretty messy! We're hoping to move out of our apartment soon so that way we can get a place with rooms for our separate, respective hobbies. Anyways - what you posted are ACTUAL workstations that look like they are put to good use on a constant basis, and I respect that.

Cheers :)

What is up with all those wires? Is she a professional guitar re-stringer?

Yup, wire for jewelry (nicholasandfelice on Etsy). Used to be only earrings but because of the insanely large market online our big seller these days is shawl pins she bends out of 9 ga. aluminum wire. We make our living almost entirely off of Etsy these days. I do a line of CNC milled and die stamped nerd jewelry. But she uses silver, brass and aluminum wire. And yes, actual workstations, taking the thread literally...Notice the USB scale and (beige!) thermal printer for shipping as well.

CHF Outlet...solid walnut writing desk. It's got a light scuff front right leg so, marked down from $599 to $399 but I made them give it to me for $150.

Nice! That room is freaking awesome. I love the accent lights.

He does have a sick room - but with a rig like that I would certainly have it on the desk to show it off more rather than under. Too nice to hide. =)

Here's my setup with the 3 projectors. Thanks goes out to the guys at Home Theatre Shack for helping me with the screen paint. For anyone wondering it's a flat neutral grey (about an N5 on the Munsell scale - pretty much half-way between white and black).

The in-game shot is taken in full daylight with some of the blinds in the room open. Pretty awesome to have it completely playable with that much ambient light. The camera phone doesn't do it justice at all.

awesome screen setup! there has got to be a better way to do the projectors than on a table top though.

There are 16 foot ceilings in that room so mounting them above the screen would require 10 foot poles coming down. There is no vertical lens shift (or optical zoom) on those projectors so it pretty much necessitates placing them on the table. The only other option would be an arm coming off the screen assembly itself but that route requires a sturdy fixed screen configuration. This was relatively easy to setup. It's just 3 Sintra boards that I purchased from an advertising shop cut to size and then 3 adjustable VESA mounts to attach them to the wall ... and then paint.

I'll snap some more pics in low light. I put these ones up because it's the only way to actually see the screens. At night it just looks like a big 88"x 20" display. It's pretty awesome for BF3, BC2 and anything else that runs well in Eyefinity.
