Anyone finding the GTX 690 online?

I wasn't planning to buy one this morning. I was merely spectating on the speculating.

I remember scoffing at people who bought the 6MB canopus pure 3d ;). RIP 3dfx, RIP.

I remember shelling out the extra $$$ on it so I could do 800x600 where all my friends with their 4mb versions were doing 640x480! Then they leapfrogged me with their 8mb voodoo 2's for a good 6 months. I had to wait a while due to being a poor college student, before I could afford an upgrade.

The card made a brief showing on EVGA, and nowhere else, so it seems.

NewEgg fails, hard. $200 markup? Yeah, they value their customers alright. To add insult to injury NO REFUNDS ALLOWED! Yummy!

Fuck newegg. Considering the low volume of this card, I hope making an extra $200/card ends up being dwarfed by the bad publicity of doing it. I already got little motivation to buy off newegg vs amazon or other places, mainly just that their site is a bit better, but fuck them. I'll put in few minutes of extra work to buy elsewhere, which includes purchase orders at work where I also tend to go to newegg just because its easy to put in a newegg part# and not have purchase people mess it up. 10-20k/year they probably make 5% or something profit from that? Least its a start.

My only complaint about Newegg is that I think they should have had the stones to sell them for $1500.

Competing on price is the most fair way to distribute scare resources.

On sale in Australia for ~$1600, keeping in mind the aus dollar is better than the US at the moment too...

Any word on when anybody is going to get more of these? I thought I read that nVidia said more availability on May 7th (tomorrow) but I don't know what that means.

EVGA may have some more on their site tomorrow. It would be nice if they'd hurry up and ship the Signature one's they took pre-orders for. It shouldn't take till the end of the month to come up with a dang t-shirt and mouse pad that should of already been ready in time for launch.

Yikes...GTX690s from Sri Lanka with love. $49.00 shipping on top of the $1075 price. That's a betting man's venture for sure.

You jerk, you beat me to it. I got an email notice from EVGA and when I got ready to check out, sold out. GRR

Kidding :p (but I really want one)

Sure is funny how the games haven't changed drastically enough to justify the ever increasing price of video cards. Wonder what causes that?

Grr!!!! I got the email on my iPhone... I'm trying to make the purchase... I get to creating an account and it said you already had an account... Went through the forgot your password procedure... Logged in... It said OOS. I almost cried.

He, he. In my country 680s are at stock in almost every shop. Asus, Palit, PoV, Gainward Phantoms 2 and 4gb and ref. No wonder because the cost like 3 weeks paycheck.
I will wait for Lightning. 580 is still doing great job for my needs..

I'm sorry for everybody who didn't get a card that wanted one...

A few tips:

Login ahead of time and make sure your address is already in their system.
Signup for the email notification. (this comes almost immediately after the item is in-stock but the stock only lasts a minute or two)
Optionally use a page monitor (I used Google Chrome's Page Monitor add-on and it was what alerted me when the item as in-stock)
Check around 3:30pm PST or later (somebody at eVGA told me this is typically when the store is updated but it can also update at other times as well!)
Have your credit card on your desk.

I don't know if that's helpful or not, but that's how I got mine. I think most importantly is to have an account already created, logged in, and with your address already entered.

Good luck everybody

Seriously?

I'm fairly certain I've been buying video cards at the second tier (1 under the flagship release) for $400 since the Radeon 9800pro (6800GT, 7800GT, 8800GTS, GTX 570). In relative terms the cost of cards has been going down once you account for inflation.

I was able to add it to cart and enter my CC info but once I clicked "place order" tab I found myself in a loop...the web page will take me again to address field, followed by Cc info and so on.My guess is that I was few sec too slow....

You now own four 690 cards ... :D

Was lucky to get mine on Friday. Put it in my machine this afternoon and it runs like a champe. Right now its idles at 32C and full load at 78C.

I ordered a 690 from NCIX late last Thursday and it shipped today. Not too bad considering it said 5-10 days when I ordered and now it just says back ordered. Just have to wait another day or two for it. :D

I hope my old i7 920 is up for it because I don't think I'll be able to afford a CPU/mobo upgrade for a while.
