6 months and my SSD has depreciated in value by over 50%.
ugh i just bought a samsung 830 256 for 289.99 at amazon.... should i return it and get one of these....
Someone can't seem to do math.Well, buy one if you need one but don't buy it just because it's a good deal. I read an analyst report earlier this year that said SSD prices were going to drop below the $1-per-GB mark by late summer. That report looks to have been a bit too conservative and we're nearing that mark already
Yep. SSD prices should be under $1-per-GB by summer, and not just the asynch cheaper models. If you need an SSD then buy this as there's no reason not to, but don't buy it if you don't need it while under the assumption that you won't find a better deal. Cheaper deals will almost certainly be had.
I'm waiting for summer to buy a new laptop + SSD
Someone can't seem to do math.
Yup if I am correct we are at 78 cents a gig now right??

You seem to be under the assumption that we gives a rat ass about what some random study claims is the average price per gig of across the entire SSD market. As a consumer, all I care about is the lowest price per gig at which I can buy a reasonably well-reviewed mainstream SSD. So $0.78 or $0.84 works for me, as being the effective price-per-gig right now.And you seem to be under the misconception that a Crucial M4's price = prices of all SSDs... Take a gander at Newegg or Amazon prices and you'll see they're still above 1-to-1, with the exception of a few.

Missed one of the best deals this year.
Edit: Amazon is still temporarily price matching, yay

This is like quoting the MSRP price of a 2500k, instead of the MicroCenter price.
OOS now in Newegg
Don't forget to pick one of these up, no bracket included.

Crap i just got mine from buy.com for 10.00 more. I wonder if they will pricematch
Thanks for Amazon pricematching, I bought it from them. 256Gb m4 for $200 is an INSANLY HOT deal. I thought it was great when m4 hit $1/Gb but 256Gb for $200
edit:
Still alive on amazon. Seller by default is tigerdirect, you will need to change it to amazon for FS.

how do you amazon price match? looks the like drive is 229 straight from amazon and the td one is out.
damn i bought my coupon for $3I am very active on slickdeals and not so active on hardforums......i am always hard for the wifey though
I picked up the Crucial M4 and used a coupon from ccccpn for $.95 which was $30 off $150. Purchased the m4 on staples website.
$249.99 - $30 coupon = $219.99 + 18.14 (TAX....FU UNCLE SAM) = $238.14. I called in and had staples PM Amazon.com since there price around 12pm central and 2pm central was $199.99 with no tax and free 2 day shipping. Staples gave me a refund for $54.13 after tax making my final purchase price $184.00.
Last week i picked up 2 120gb sandisk extreme and paid $99 for 1 and $79 for the other. I plan to send back the sandisk i bought for $99 and just keep the $79 as a backup or flip it off to pay for some beer.
What is better in terms of quality, speed and reliability. The sandisk extreme 120gb or crucial m4 256gb. I care about the $$$, honestly both cost about the same to me per gb so don't worry about the size difference....just pure raw numbers

$3 for a $30 coupon is PWNAGE....i rarely ever pay for coupon and if i do it is like $1 for $30 off coupon. Please do your research on slickdeals before you just fork over you cash..unless you don't care about forking over money to big companies and resellers.
Heck..i used the backdoor trick for staples on the coupon and have like 15 of the $25 of $75 coupons just sitting in my coupon folder on my desktop...lolz
