Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Trailer

After the news that STALKER 2 has been canceled, this infuriates me all the more. Unimaginative, boring crap like this and Halo just keep cranking out the sequels, and the console crowd just keep throwing away their money on them.

I thought BO1 was a major refresher for the series, than MW3 came out and I was like WTF, it was like MW3 was a total step backwards. Than I see the trailer for this and was immediately at a loss for words, it looks almost like a step back again. Treyarch has been good doing their own engine and whatnot, but it looks like their using the MW3 engine, so now the graphics look like $hit. I dont know what they were thinking at all.

Looks like alot of stuff blows up.

Instead of snowmobiles and motorcycles we get horses now.........

EUUUUUUU! bload up horsies, this is gonna be messy

deserves repost cuz of ridicularity

Exactly what I was thinking. See how many you can gather up and hit with an RPG. KAMBOOOOOMMMMM SPLAT!

I bet PETA will not be happy, and they'll either take it out or leave it in for added publicity.

Wow, it started out as Quake 3, with futuristic people, and now here we are, same engine, just updated, back to futuristic stuff.

Maybe with the horses they'll also include ponies. DLC will include the rainbow color pack with unicorn horn. They want to tap a new market.

Regarding the trailer:

Futuristic robots? Horses? This kinda reminds me of the early DNF trailer where it jumped between futuristic stuff in cities and then being out in the country. What's next, Call of Duty: Black Ops Future Past Extreme Steampunk Fun Time?

When this game is released and inevitably crashes it will read "MW2.exe has stopped responding."

Apparently you CAN resell the same game over and over again for mega-millions. This type of behavior should not be encouraged... seriously.

Wait, was that serious? Who the.. no seriously, what in the hell was that? That was the biggest clusterfuck of "let's steal cool shit from other games and combine it into one" that I have ever seen. It looks like metal gear 4 and battlefield abortion. AND HORSES?!

Couldn't have said it better myself,

What I don't understand is why instead of creating these massive-plot-hole-filled world-destruction themes and storylines, someone doesn't give us something that aligns itself a little bit like the original MOW/COD games.

Something like allowing us to play-through ACTUAL Black Ops / Special Forces scenarios that have occurred. There's been plenty. Somalia, Grenada, Panama, Iraq 1 & 2. It goes on and on. I've always enjoyed reading about those. I don't see how it wouldn't translate well to a game and wouldn't be too hard to tie it together.

I'd play that. The "story" could be the real story given to you in a recap or something.

TBH, I think one of the few levels I enjoyed of MW3 was the warehouse SAS level with the MP5SD6's. If they did that type of thing, historical events, and took off the training wheels (think Brothers of Arms and original Rainbow Six non-linear play).

Also, what's evident in the trailer is the "formula" they give you and has been in play for quite some time.

- Over the top shootouts
- Aerial barrage level
- On-rails vehicle level with large vehicle
- On-rails vehicle level with small vehicle, but limited control (see Horses)

How much you want to bet that you don't actually get to fly this F38 thing? And seriously, a successor to the F35? In ten years? Really? All for VTOL?

They really should have taken it to another level. I can't wait until call of duty game that fucking takes place on another planet, lol.

it would be cool if they took the horse, merged it with a snomobile and let you ride it. Snomohorse EPIC.

It looks like it could have potential, but I know how linear CoD is. Put a different name on it, make it a bit more open and let someone else develop it, and it could end up a good game.

Mark Lamia has stated in a video interview that there will be points in the single player campaign where the player will be able to choose one of several missions to do next. The outcome is final and will affect the final outcome of the game. If the player fails the mission the game continues but the ending will be different.

I love COD single player so any extra replay value would be great.

I grew out of Choose Your Own Adventure books in the 4th grade.

...I was poking fun at CoD claiming you could make "decisions." Fallout it ain't.

Great, another yearly release CoD from Activision, yes its a popular franchise but do you have to keep releasing the same old shit again and again all over again?

Not impressed by this trailer, Black Ops multiplayer is the biggest shit I've ever played and I don't have hopes for this one either. At least this one is set in the future but still not appealing enough.

Activision claims this one will have improved graphics, they said that about MW3 too and it looked like shit and I doubt this one will be any better, judging from the trailer.

Is that a joke? Seriously, that game looked so bad. There is no way that could be called a AAA title.

I don't understand what people expect to get out of first person shooters these days. I mean there's only so much you can do with the genre at this point except make the graphics better. That's not happening obviously, but what if it WAS happening? There would still be nothing more you can really do for the genre even if we did get insanely amazing graphics.

I mean seriously what the hell does everyone want? A revolutionary first person shooter? Good luck with that. Not only is the MW series oversaturated...but the genre itself is played out entirely. There's not a lot more that can be done to "un-stagnate" the FPS genre as a whole.

I -expect- that they update their engine. They have the money, they have the resources. I -expect- them not to release the same game on the same engine over and over and over again because idiot fanboy's will throw their money at them. I -expect- professionalism and standards.

It's not going to be getting much fancier, it's designed to run 60 fps on ancient hardware (and is already not doing so good...) They're going to milk it until next gen, shit is tapped out.

People bitch and moan that the game is so linear so when they put in a little more variety but now I hear "It's shit because it's not Fallout". What the fuck?

I know that. I just don't think it's ok. Lots of other games look much better on consoles, and run just fine, they're just lazy. They can afford to be, after all, if they made CoD - Clown Warfare, the fanboys would still camp out in front of stores to get it.

They are not using a new engine thanks to consoles, or either that Activision is too lazy to get off their asses and fund for a new one.

Is it sad to admit I know so little about the series that the first thing I did was check to see if EA was involved or not in its publishing? I mean, c'mon, non-linear gameplay might just mean rainbow colored endings :D.

It's just a bad game. You know how no one bitches about the shooting mechanics in Fallout, or the story in BF3? Because they aren't bad games.
